I do a lot of location recording of acoustic concerts, held in museums and churches, so I bring everything with me. One thing I hate in that scenario are cables with thick insulation, which, when coiled and stacked in a road case, tend to take up space. Add several cables of 50 to 100 feet, and you’re soon carrying an extra case just for cables! These Shure cables are half the diameter of standard cables, so I can carry two 50’ and 25’ alongside my 100’ 5 pin stereo cable and all of it only takes up half the depth of my pelican case! My only gripe is it comes with the super cheap vintage style xlr plugs. Don’t be fooled into thinking thick insulation means quality. I’ve had one of these cables since 1993 and it still sees work on a regular basis.
