I've used several guitar wireless units over the years and this one absolutely takes the cake. Tough, dependable, quiet (no noise), strong signal, and easy to use. I have it on my pedalboard but I don't use the Shure's built-in tuner as I prefer my PolyTune, but when I tried the tuner it was accurate. Great option for anyone who needs a little room on their board if they add the receiver - it could replace the tuner pedal. All in all a great unit, wish I'd bought it sooner. I love how rugged it is and the battery life is amazing.

One of my Line 6 G50's finally gave up the ghost after about 1000 shows. I decided, based on feedback from friends and sound engineers to give this a shot. This is a really fantastic unit. I've only used it on about a dozen shows but there have been absolutely zero issues. It sounds great, even better than good cables. No dropouts. I've only had out to about 100 ft but there were no issues. It even worked in a place where I would not use my G50 because of so much interference. Very pleased with this unit so far. And the tuner is awesome. Would not hesitate to get another.

When my old pedal style wireless unit decided to stop working I needed something a little more reliable and solidly built. The Shure GLX-D16 definitely fit the bill. It is built like a tank and the antennas are built into the unit so you can't lose them. The trnsmitter is also well built and is easy to operate. As a plus, the floor unit also has a built in tuner which means one less pedal on your board!

I bought this to replace a Line 6 wireless unit that kept cutting out due to all of the wireless interference at my church. This Shure unit has done great. The battery gets me through 2 sometimes 3 Sunday’s before I have to recharge. Had a little interference but a simple channel change cleared that up. The tuner is very good and accurate. My 2 cons are 1. I wish it came with a right angle 1/4 inch. And 2. Once the rubber cover on the transmitter that covers the charging port is opened, you are never closing it again. Ever! It just flaps around. Other than those 2 things, great unit.

I bought this to use at home and at Church. We have two of them there (along with multiple wireless in-ears and microphones and wifi) I've never had the signal drop out. At home I've had some distortion, but that's when the router was directly between the receiver and the transmitter, so just don't do that.

So, let us get the obvious "pro" for the unit out of the way, it has a tuner built in. Awesome idea and execution. It is very accurate and pedalboard friendly.
Now for the main pros - This unit is reliable.
I have used this unit for a week, with 2 opportunities to perform/rehearse. Connection was strong, didn't drop signal, and captured signal quickly when I turned it off after sets.
Battery life - It holds connection very well and has a super long battery life. A friend of mine suggested it to me. He had charged his pack, left it in his guitar case for 2 weeks, plugged it in and it had hours of battery life to spare. (I've used a few other units from another brand that I liked, but connection was iffy when it would enter sleep mode, plus it's latest update left me unable to see how much battery life was actually left and would drain quickly from lack of use). I also like that it's little battery is replaceable if I lose it or it stops holding charge, charges quickly, and is charged within the pack via a usb cable (included along with the charge brick).
Form Factor - The power cable for the receiver is super long and has a low profile. I was able to run it along the stage with my xlr cable without creating a bunch of cable clutter.
The transmitter is super low profile and doesn't stick off my guitar strap super big, is light, and doesn't slide around the strap (thinner nylon straps, think seatbelt style or ernie ball $5 straps). The size of the actual pedal is small, too. I put it and transmitter in my mono gigbag and break it out when I need to rehearse or perform.
Connection/Reliability - The shure unit has been solid. My church uses Sennhieser wiresless mics, in ears and instrument packs and I'm able to show up with this, connect and not have an issue. That's with many, and I mean 12-13 wireless units, used at once.
Interference - I have NOT tested the unit near a wifi router, so I can't give any feedback concerning 2.4GHz interference with wifi, but my church has wifi and it hasn't affected my unit on stage.
If you need something simple to plug and play with, definitely check this unit out. It cost double what my last unit cost me, but in a few uses it has surpassed my expectations and I can't wait to perform with it.

I actually checked with Shure, and got an answer to the listed 6 foot minimum working distances of the GLXD16 and GLXD14. In practice, there exists no minimum distance requirements for either set. The info is in users manual download at bottom of web page. The GLXD14R is the only manual that does not have minimum distance reference. He said that he never heard of a problem, and that he and two other band mates use GLXD16 at 48-60 show a year. Maybe the manuals are old outdated sources. Keep practicing.

I’ve been playing country and southern rock professionally for 30 years Touring most of them playing large and small venues. I’ve owned a few wireless units in the past and most of them ended up thrown aside. Playing clean and chicken picking makes me fussy over my tone. Most units I’ve used either compressed and changed my tone or had latency. Not this one. Let me say the only difference I could detect from my cord was a slight absence of white noise and I might’ve imagined that. I now run wireless 100% of the time thanks to the Shure glxd16. I’ve used it in high traffic areas with no drop outs and no latency. This is the best wireless I’ve ever used. The battery is another story, Shure says 16 hours on a charge. My experience is 20 hours. The tuner is spot on and very visible even outside in the sun. The convenience of being in my pedal board is another great thing I don’t have to hook something extra up. Buy the sure glxd16 with confidence. I did a lot of research before I purchased this and was skeptical, Shure made a believer out of me. This product is a home run.

I FINALLY found a mid-priced wireless unit that does NOT disappoint! I play electric violin and I’ve always found that other wireless units really thin out the body and tone of the signal and especially on a violin this is less than stellar. This unit really maintains the integrity of the original signal and has great range without cutting out. The pedal unit is built like a tank and handles the rigors of the road like a champ!

Great build...solid as a rock. This unit will stand the test of time. No lag, or degradation in tone. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is: if the unit is in a heavy 2.4 WiFi environment you won’t get even half the distance it claims. At home my router is same room and I can’t get more than 20 feet away without getting serious dropouts. If I put it on the other side of the house it does good. Line of sight is important also. I tried to get to the mixer for soundcheck at a gig and it started dropping out at about 20ish feet. All said...as long as your not running to the other side of the bar on a gig.....you’re fine. If you stay in about a 20 foot radius you probably won’t have any problems.

This system has been exactly what I’ve needed for my frequent performances moving around stage like an animal. I’ve used many different systems in the past and none of which have held a candle to this Shure pedal tuner/wireless system. There have been zero drops out of strong sound and the Tuner/receiver pedal fits perfectly on my pedal board. These things are made extremely sturdy with mostly metal casing and durable power supply. One charge for the lithium battery used by the transmitter lasts multiple shows and charging is simple and easy with simply plugging straight into the pack.
I highly recommend this product and hope more people get the pleasant experience I’ve gotten from making this crucial purchase.

I have owned several Guitar Wireless systems over the years and several pedal board tuners. When I first heard about what Sure had done, I did some research. When I first saw the price I was a little shocked, But soon realized the quality in this device is off the chart. Tuner Capabilities are perfect and the Clarity of Sound. I was hesitant at buying another wireless system as I hadn't had great luck in the past. I did a ton of research and found this to be the best fit for a gigging musician. My most important needs were: No loss or delay of my signal and no coloration of my tone. I play country mostly so this was a huge need.
Tested to 140' on stage multiple times - no loss in signal and my tone was just like I was wired.
The pedal receiver will mount on your board and the foot switch brings you into a chromatic tuner which I now use instead of my Polytune or the tuner on my Helix.
Both the receiver and transmitter are rugged! Made of metal and made well. You can tell they will last.
Threadlock on the transmitter wire and it has a rechargeable battery! I've played 2 full gigs from one day to the next without having to recharge.
With the auto frequency management system, it is the easiest wireless I've ever used or setup.
It's everything that I've been needing. You won't be disappointed.

I like to move around on stage when playing my guitar, and the Shure GLX Digital wireless system is perfect for allowing the freedom of movement and keeping my rich tones without any dropout in the signal. I appreciate the pedal functions of the device as well for the accurate tuner, which is easy to read with the large lighted LED display even in low light, fits well in the front on my pedalboard. It is also constructed of solid metal and extremely durable, both the receiver & transmitter. This is used by the Pro Career players, and is why I decided to purchase one, and it has turned out to be a best music investment for years of usage with the rechargeable lithium battery, I also purchased an extra rechargeable battery to go with it as a backup. I prefer to buy the best equipment to add to my rig, and I buy all my gear through AMS and consult often with Technical Pro's in Customer Service. I trust Shure products, because they have been in the game a long time.

I have had no reception problems with this like I have had with the analog system I previously had. It doesn't affect my tone at all. I love the rechargeable battery. I can play a weekend of rehearsals and gigs on one charge, and I am able to charge it in the car! The receiver and transmitter are high metal! The transmitter is a bit heavy but I have already dropped it a couple times and it took no damage.

This pedal is great! It sounds good and is very easy to use. You MUST have a wireless system that is capable of more than one frequency. This thing sounds even better than my high quality monster cables. The wireless pack has a sleek look to it as well( no long antenn sticking out) battery life is great. The pedal has a mute function and a tuner which is also very handy. I'm very happy with my purchase overall. If you're thinking about going wireless go ahead and get this! This wireless unit is simply the best. One of our guitar players has one and when my line 6 G30 was starting to fail me i Bought the Shure GLXD16. AMAZING! I ran both my Fender Jazz deluxe Active 5 string as well as my Squier Passive 5 string through it, and the tone is perfect. Our lead singer has a Shure GLX wireless Mic, and all three of our units perform flawlessly together. No dropouts, the rechargable battery, steel construction, range all make this an excellent unit. I guess it is true you get what you pay for.

This unit arrived quickly, so glad I didn't pay for expedited shipping!
The unit comes packaged well and is easy to figure out, and most important, it sounds great.
Will be running it all summer at shows and will figure out what the real range is.
I love that I can choose the channel myself if I want to, vary the db settings for the output, and another tuner on the pedalboard doesn't hurt. I haven't had a chance to try it powered via the pedalboard power supply, but it does state a voltage range that seems to be compatible AND it supports both positive AND negative tips, so it should work. If it does, then that's very cool.
Already charged the transmitter, easy and effortless, rechargeable battery is gold as far as I am concerned. Detachable cable to transmitter with screw on contact is nice as well.

This has got to be the best on the market. Genius design. If you're a guitar player who uses a pedal board and wants to go wireless, this is a no brainer. Very well built, rugged components, perfect performance and truly zero sound degradation. Shure is way ahead of the pack in so many areas and this is a great example of that. Is the best wireless I ever had. Portable and easy to use. Awesome tuner and LOVE the battery, no need to pack wireless unit and tuner, because is all in one. I sold my 2 old line 6s and happier than ever not to change batteries twice in a show.
Both receiver and transmitter are build like a tank. My guitarist let it fall twice already and nothing happened to it neither the live sound.
Just plug an play.
The battery is the best feature, the AWESOME build in tuner is extremely accurate, and of course the tank construction for the entire system.
The best sound, no difference between this unit and a expensive cable.

This product worked great from the time I hooked it up. The set up was very simple.Used it out live this weekend and it was spot on. I walked over 50' from the stage. It was nice to walk out and hear what front of house sounded like during a set. It allowed me to go tweak my tone.
yes very built like a tank.
very, just be careful where you set it. My bass player stomped it during a solo and I lost all sound, when it went to tuner mode.
ease of set up and the tuner.
it sounded like me, nothing different than a cable.

Made well and sturdy. Used it the day i caught it and was impressed with it overall. Test will be at bigger venues and outdoors.

If you have pedals and read your manuals, not that hard to figure out.
Tuner,cool add on!!! A case to protect it.

The lithium battery is the scale tipper! Sounds as good as a cable, too. I love that there are no antennas on the floor receiver to get broken off. Just a great design. I sold my Sennheiser UHF system since I got this!
Both receiver and transmitter are encased in metal.
The easiest system to set up. Just plug it in and it links.
The lithium battery life; metal housings; great sound!

Use this for a week for my gigs and wow! Very simple to use and amazing sound. I don't hear the difference vs a quality cable .. I'm there is a little as with any wireless system but I don't hear it. Such an easy setup, great design and solidly built. You get what you pay for and you definitely get it with Shure.
Very sturdy all metal.
Plug, turn on, link (for the first time only) and play..
For the price, I wish it came with a carrying case but I guess Shure would want extra money for that ;)
I can't hear the difference whatsoever compare to a quality monster cable.
