Perfect for 18” kick drum

I looked forever for a case to fit my 14”x18” George Way kick drum. After a ton of measurements and research, I landed on the D1618 floor tom case from SKB. It is a Perfect fit! The extra length accounts for the wood hoops and t rods and allows for a nice snug fit with no extra space. The drum does not flop around inside which is what I was hoping for! If you have an 14”x 18” kick drum, this is YOUR CASE!

These cases work so well and provides great coverage while at the same time maintaining integrity for my precious drums. I have worked as a stage hand and there’s a reason all the pros are using these cases. They are road/battle tested by most of the biggest bands out there and I can see why

I'm thinking if you have the rim-mounting system on your drum you might need to go up a size (from 12" to 13", etc). Still the case flexes a little so all the toms went in. The padding looks durable and protective.

Besides the SOLID case shell, military-quality handles and snap latches on the heavy-duty case straps, the interior of these cases are lined with high-grade thick cloth padding, as opposed to cheap foam "protection" that generally falls to pieces in short order. This padding is also on the interior of the case lid, resulting in complete protection for any drum.

SKB Cases are more expensive than so-called "waterproof" fiberboard cases for the same reasons a Mercedes-Benz costs more than a Kia.

these case are perfect. they stack well and are very strong. i dont worry about my drums when i put them in, even if i drop them. these are not cheap "bags" that only protect from certain situation. i wish my car was as tuff!

QUALITY:
Well made using nice quality materials. Thoughtful design.
FEATURES:
The increased sturdiness and water resistance over fiberboard cases was key for safely storing my larger drums. I got the 18X22 case also.
EASE OF USE:
The quick release connector is a very nice feature over the standard over-under threadthrough pull tight hold-down.
VALUE:
These cases are an incredible value considering most alternatives in this price range are the fiberboard cases - which are not as strong and not water resistant/proof.
