Pros: This thing is super clean and clear. When pushed, it does have some nice albeit subtle color. THE MIC for acoustic guitar, violins, cello, and some female vocalist.
Cons: It also may serve as a good drum room mic or in a stereo pair over the drums but where the sonic signature of this mic is the best, isn't always the frequencies you want to hear. It will limit its uses on other sources but will knock just about any acoustic mic off its stand. I know, I've tried a LOT of them.

Perfect for singers and hip hop artists. 10/10 recommend. If you’re on the fence about this don’t be. This will forever be in my Arsenal. Personally this will be the mic I use for years to come.

I know the Sony C100 is a solid peace of machinery often left in the shadows of Sony’s flagship mic the C800 nonetheless, I’ve been using my friends c100 in comparison to the more expensive mic and love it on my vocals. I’m excited to have my own I placed my order immediately after our session. I encourage anyone ordering to request signature upon delivery especially if you live in Detroit like me.

This mic is super clear. I love how natural it sounds! It’s not like the rest of those high end mics out there that add character to your vocal. This mic is meant to record things as naturally as they sound. It’s a great all around and vocal mic. I highly recommend.

This microphone sounds amazing to me. I ordered the Sony C-100 as a birthday gift to myself. I originally wanted the C800g but there wasn't any available. I've had this mic since April and I like how it compliments the plugins I use in my Apollo Twin. For example, the 610B, Manley, and API. There's nothing I dislike about the mic as of yet. Features that stand out to me are the extended frequency response and the dual capsules.

I've been looking to get a new Mic for my studio and was looking at some Mic's that were more expensive and more known and happened to come across this Mic on a gear forum. There wasn't much about it other than Sony just released a new Mic that week. Knowing the reputation of the Sony c800g and actually using one I decided to check American Musical to see if they were carrying them and sure enough they were so I took a gamble and ordered one. It came with a very nice protective carry case. The Mic was a little smaller than I expected it to be from the picture I saw of it. And it's a lot smaller than the c800g but the build quality is top notch. The sound is amazing on it. Very detailed without being too bright/harsh. Paired with a solid state pre, the c100 sounds great. With a nice tube pre is when the c100 really shines. It sounds as expensive as Mic's that cost double, even triple the price of the c100 and holds it's own against them. I've been using it on Rap Vox. Clients love it!
