This Takamine 12 string is a good sounding, easy playing guitar. What a beauty! From the beautiful wood work to the shoulder mounted amp controls, perfect without spending a zillion bucks. Sound good whether using it strictly as an acoustic, or amplified. Love this guitar. My go-to rig when I just want to play. Can’t beat it for the money!!

Bought this guitar because lone time ago had 12 string just like it came packaged perfectly great looking guitar easy to play sounds incredible seemed to be already be set up strings lowered just right and just tune and play have to say bought many guitars from American musical and this one is at the top of the list great guitar if you are looking for a 12 string guitar look no further this one is it you will love it thank you American musical

Aside from the "synthetic bone nut" (plastic) this is an excellent sounding guitar for this price point. Change out the nut to real bone and this will be the best option at this price point.

Very happy with my decision to buy this guitar, after struggling between Takamine and Guild, I went Takamine and couldn't be happier. Visually beautiful with the sound to match. The setup is perfect with a comfortable action. Recommend to any looking for a great 12 string.

Big shout out to AMS. Bought this Saturday A.M. had in my hands Sunday Morning, next day. This is not my first order and definite won't be my last. Service is Fantastic.
Arrived without blemish. Playability is far superior that the price would suggest. All it needed was a little tuning, strings were slightly flat, but thats to be expected.
I'd put the tone and sound quality in the same ranking as my Gibson J45. You won't be sorry with this purchase.

I recently upgraded to the beautiful sunburst rendition and couldn’t be happier. I’ve learned my 12-string chops over the past handful of years on a few different acoustic and acoustic/electric 12 string guitars, including an Ovation 1835, a vintage Yamaki and my most recent being a Dean jumbo JC-QM.
My Takamine is by far the best of the bunch - from the beautiful finish which provides inspiration, to the excellent craftsmanship, fit and finish, to the awesome playability, to the balanced sound, to the projection when not plugged in, to the out of the box set up which needed only tuning. The neck is great, the frets are finished and there is absolutely no fret buzz. I researched a ton on 12-string jumbo acoustic/electric guitars. I just couldn’t see justification in paying thousands of dollars for a Gibson, Martin or Taylor. If you’re in the market for a jumbo acoustic/electric 12-string guitar, look no further than this amazing value. Did I say how beautiful she is?! Amazing guitar. Buy it!

I am very pleased with the quality of this guitar. It is beautifully finished and has an amazing sound. I have had other 12 string guitars and this one actually holds tune which is unusual for a 12 string. On another note, the service from American Musical was outstanding from order to delivery. AMS is now my one source for instruments and gear

Fantastic 12 string guitar. Beautiful flame maple back and sides. The sound of this 12 string is as good or better than a guitar costing 3 times as much. Sounds as good as it looks. Onboard tuner and electronics are an added plus.

I have tried a lot of 12 stringed guitars but I must say that this Takamine was a really nice one.
Great sound, great guitar to play and a nice looking guitar as well.
But that’s no secret that Takamine have great guitars, and this is no exception.

I’m a huge fan of 12-string guitars. I have two others, as well as a 12-string banjo (banjitar). My other instruments are usually kept at the performance venue where I work, and I wanted a guitar to keep at home and write with. Ordering online without playing first is always risky, but the Takamine GJ72-CE was ready to go almost right out of the box,” not to mention visually appealing.
After tuning up, it was wonderful. The action is very nice, very good for faster playing, and the overall sound is well balanced. It’s quite a bright sound, but there is plenty of bass tone and good mid-range to match. The intonation is also exceptional. Chords and notes voiced in the upper frets are in tune across all strings.
The electronics are very good, especially for the price. There is a great deal of control over the sound, and it sounds very natural. And oddly enough (to my ears, anyway), it sounds the best and most natural with “EQ Bypass” turned on.
The only complaint I have is the sticker on the back of the headstock is difficult to remove and left some adhesive residue, but I don’t think it’s worth knocking off a star for something trivial like that.
Overall, for the price, this is a fantastic guitar. It sounds great and looks great. Five stars.

The Takamine GJ72CE has an amazingly beautiful finish! It looks and feels like a $2,500 guitar! And the weight is excellent for a Jumbo 12 String - it isn't too heavy which is great when you're playing a 2 hour show!
I bought the Natural Finish model and it has a gorgeous look to it! The back is really special with that 2 piece look to it with the stripe running down the middle.
I'm very excited about this guitar. I finally have something that makes me feel really good! Thanks AMS!!

I play in 2 classic rock bands. I am over 60 and have been playing for over 40 years. I have owned many guitars and at least 5 12 strings. I was tired of hauling all my stuff back and forth and needed a second 12 string to leave at my 2nd band's rehearsal space. I have a Fender import model that I like a lot but I wanted a jumbo for this band. I could not find this model near me to try out. I trusted the reviews and pulled the trigger on the pay as you go plan (Thanks AMS). Guitar arrived in two days. Packed well and let me tell you that all the raves about this guitar are correct. Fit, finish, are great and it's beautiful. (I got the sunburst).
This has quite a wide and thicker neck when compared to my Fender, but I have owned a jumbo Tak in the past and I will adapt fine. I tuned it up and tried some barre chords right off the bat. Felt good. Action is lower than I expected. I will have a set up done locally with extra light gauge strings. JUST BUY ONE!!

Love this guitar. Beautiful woods, nice neck.
Only beef is getting the battery to properly
stay on the contacts so that the electronics work.
I can't get the battery to sit right in its
compartment and keep in contact with the two
prongs on the bottom. Either I'm an idiot or I'm
not the only one having this problem. Guitar sounds
great unplugged.

The flamed maple sides and bookmatched back are simply stunning in person. I was amazed at the power and strong bass that is a great counter to the 12 string chime. I own this guitar. Great bang for the buck!
