It's great to have all of these quality digital tracks -BUT sorely missing MIDI featured on previous models! Also missing are the previous on board CD recorder, and aesthetically more attractive metal trim sides and previously more attractive color scheme. This is a great machine that performs well while feeling a little bare bones that some folks might prefer but it gets the job done on a budget never seen before! So I still give it four stars!

My Korg 32 track blows this away...and masters, and burns a radio playable CD. Yes, most radio is now mp3, unless you listen to HD radio.....which is 44.1kHz, cd's, instead of mp3's. Real HD.....at least DVD quality 96kHz. Real real real HD. 192kHz. It is a shame that this is not really compatible with PC's and windows 10.....which will upgrade soon, with whatever # or model designation corporate decides on. Do what the rest of us are doing. This is great for writing material....you gotta do shows, to make the dough-s.

It’s a good multitrack recorder DP32 and DP32SP
The DP32 has functions that SP don’t ... that want .... but nonetheless... they are the best portable multitrack recorder out... I like what I do in them....
It would be nice to have computer interface capabilities but it is sufficient...
I recommend them both to others ...

The Mic Preamps on this unit are very good.I hope that the next version of this bumped up the inputs to 16. That's wishful thinking,I know,but it would be awesome if they did. You have to toggle a couple of times to get the Effects going,but I usually run the Outboard Rack gear using the Sends on the Tascam. This unit is a lot of fun to work around in and it sounds really good once you have everything dialed in. Highly REecommended!

This device is amazing for live recordings! Vocals and instruments are crystal clear. The no midi thing makes it a bit cumbersome because you will have to master midi files on your computer but it can be done. Overall great product and very convenient!

I needed a solution to my hardware mobile setup and wanted to get away from daws. When I got the Tascam it wasn’t what I expected. It seemed completely above my 2 year musical pay grade. I think I’ve spent all of 10 mins in the manual then everything came together. Now my flow time is up to par. The depth it creates when mixing is remarkable. The electricity running through every track is like a console! Oh and the mic preamp is better and cleaner than most of my interfaces! It’s almost like recording on tape. Just amazing! Thanks AMS for making this possible.

First off .. this is an excellent machine to bring your music to life. The multitrack is perfect for drum kit. Just what I expected.The Sound Quality is amazing On this thing. The compressors and effects are kinda wack tho. My G8 fantom has better quality effects. Disappointing. Here’s the deal and why I gave it 2 stars. This thing continuously crashes. You could be in the middle of recording and it freezes, send file errors, recording errors and it is super frustrating. If you don’t have the know how to save your music then your first instinct is to rewrite so all of your progress is lost and you have to redo your whole song. Luckily I’ve already done that for you so basically once you get an error code you no longer have access to your files. So you’d have to download them on your computer . Then reformat your SD card on the tascam then upload your music back to the SD card on your computer then you will have access to your music. Bullshit if you ask me it’s extremely frustrating and it kills your creative mojo. Very disappointed in this product because of this. It is Noooooot I repeat! NOT!!!! A smooth experience. I regret buying this product to a point.

I picked this up because I needed to accomplish a couple different things. 1. Have everything setup at home for multiple instruments Ready to go at any time. 2. Be able to do scratch recordings at band practice for reference later. This does both tasks amazingly well. The “scratch” recordings at practice became demo recordings. A little gate and pre eq makes the mixing later so much easier. The preamps seem very transparent and really just let what ypu put into it come through. There can be a little learning curve, but there are amazing videos on YouTube that teach you everything you need to know. I just wish it had more imputs. I think I’m going to get a Tascam Model 24 next. With both units I could do anything I’ll ever need. I’ve always been a fan of Tascam.

I own the VS 2400 CD hard drive recorder. It’s 24 track hard drive recording unit by Roland! I did some things on it enough to know the machine! But, it is very complex and I did not want to spend a lot time learning it to do my latest project. I don’t like computer recording much either. So, after thinking about it, I bought the tascam DP 32. In just a few hours I was able to understand assigning Chanel’s in the mixer, just by an easy process, it was so much faster and efficient then the Roland unit. This was a big plus. I then was able to understand setting Markers for Auto punching in, copy and past, and copy and inserting tracks. Owning this unit, compared to the VS 2400 was a wise move for me. If you want a to produce quality music and not go through a long learning curve, the Tascam DP 32 is what you are looking for. I am very happy with this unit.

This machine is user-friendly and perfect for my project! I received it prior to going to the NAMM show where I spoke with the TASCAM reps about the features in this unit. I like how I can concentrate on tracking and mixing my music without being bogged down with complex terminology and having to stop what I am doing in order to work on the machine. I love the per track compressors and sound effects I can tinker with. All in all, a great addition to my humble little studio in the desert.

I've had this machine for a few weeks now, and have already made two successful and great-sounding recordings with it. I've had about three decades of experience working with analog Tascam machines (a 4-track cassette Portastudio, and a 388-8 reel-to-reel 8-track), and I was long wary of making the transition to digital recording, fearing a huge learning curve. This machine, though, proved very intuitive for a Tascam/portastudio vet like myself. I sought out some helpful YouTube videos, and those plus the supplied manual got me going in little or no time. Having so many tracks is terrific, as is not having to rely on a computer. This is a great, portable, all-in-one recording solution that I'm sure I will enjoy for years to come yet.

A very good tool for the home musician at a price point that is cheaper than the minidisc 4-tracks from the 90's. The control surface is laid out intuitively and the firmware allows flexible routing without complication. Navigating the menus was easy but how some of the functions worked required consulting the manual. While testing this with studio grade headphones the sound was high quality with no perceptible noise at moderate levels. The inclusion of the metronome was a no-brainer, and made me wonder why other recorders never had one. It has a usefull set of effects that are on par in quality with software editors while avoiding excessive bells and whistles. The controls and connectors feel like high quality and the power adaptor does not hog room on the power strip allowing neighboring outlets to be used. The unit sits level and when set on a glass table top and it does not move. I would only give it a bigger screen and four more buttons for locate points.

Wish I could have got my mpc studio black when I ordered it and got the confirmation and yet it never showed up. In one instance , I needed a 12 month plan and then the next i needed a 5 month plan. When I was told in the beginning that there was no 5 month plan for the MPC. Hut now allnof a sudden is! Either way I didnt get what I asked for. Both pieces! Smh. So what do I get for that inconvenience?

Purchased this Portastudio for my 15 year old son as a Christmas present. He’s a very talented musician who has dabbled in recording. He absolutely lost his mind opening the box and hasn’t been more than 3 feet from this Tascam since. He had many finactions figured out almost immediately. He began to tell me features it had that were unimaginable.
For the price , at the level he is at with recording , this was an absolute gem as it is by no means a “beginner” piece of equipment but it is perfect for beginners.

I've been learning this recorder for awhile now. Coming from the old Tascam 424 mkIII cassette recorder is a big step for me. The supplied user manual covers the basics, but there's more to learn yhan the basics. Thankfully, there'a lot of learned support online, so I'm getting good results with what I've recorded so far. The machine is great! Me, not so much. But I'm getting there. Thanks to AMS and their great service and affordability, I'm stepping out of the past.

I really have nothing bad to say about the DP32, it is solid, affordable and functions as expected. I owned a DP08 prior to purchasing this, so it was really easy to adapt, navigate menus, etc. Being able to use compression on my inputs is a nice feature, and the reverb is pretty good. I don't use the other fx so have no opinion regarding them. I would have gladly paid more for some extra features, especially for editing/mixdown; My first arrangement using this was 17 tracks, some automation during mixdown would have been helpful. Editing is also very cumbersome, I did manage a pretty decent recording overall but unfortunately still had to polish some things up on the computer. A touch screen would have been nice, but oh well. Bottom line I feel good about the purchase, great machine for recording/writing with the band and walking away with some good demo quality tunes.

I love this board. I own logic and protocols but I love that I have a board now that I can bring out and record sessions without depending on my laptop and external controllers. Everything you need is in this machine and I love the sound that it produces. Also if you're a DJ and want to make a mix tape, this is the machine that handle that for you and you'll have everything on a SD card!!! This thing feels like an expensive multiracker but the price is extremely affordable! Great features for all skill levels. Ease of use was another standout revelation. I own computer based recording software but for me getting back to multitrack recording and touching the faders , it just felt right! I wouldn’t been able to buy this now without the amazing payment plan. I bought a les Paul classic earlier in the year and recently bought this recorder and neither would be possible without the incredible payment plan opportunity . This is my new favorite music store!! User friendly and recording with ease makes this even better than software recording. The efx are A+ rating in my opinion and the mixing and mastering allows you to do it like the pros. I've received excellent reviews on all my projects delivered from this mammoth work horse of a console recorder. Can't beat the price for what you get back. It pays for itself just after the first use.

Would have given it 5 stars but the manual wasn't written very well. It's a lot of jumping back and forth and is somewhat confusing. Also you're only allowed to use only 2fx's on all channels, so you're going to want to invest in outboard equipment. Plus it's really only 20 faders because channels 9-32 are in stereo (9/10,11/12,13/14) and so on, so if you use those in mono, you lose some channel count. Very useful and precise editing features, but I wish they would have kept the midi on this version, but the SD format for recording is a plus. Also I like the fact that you can export individual tracks/channels into your existing DAW. very professional results. It can be the core of your project/home studio. Very warm preamps, very quiet unit, well built with a bright, colorful screen. Well worth the money. Also AMS was very quick in sending me a SD card, because mine was missing upon receipt. Get one! You won't be disappointed!

I love this thing! Everything I need is right in front of me.. no more searching for plugins or updating software or computer crashes no hard drive to worry about.. And record to SD card! And that's a big plus! The build quality is superior than anything I have seen and the recorded audio is awesome!
