Product Review This little guy may be small but it gives you a ton of control over your recordings. It's small profile keeps it out of the way, but is right there when needed.

Product Review I do a lot of field recording of sound effects and remote recording of concerts and such, and I just bought this as an upgrade to my DR40. All I can say is this thing is amazing! It is only a tiny bit bigger than the DR40, and designed to either mount to a camera or hang from your shoulder with a strap. It is lightweight, and the preamps (the most important thing) are clean, quiet, and wonderful. The battery life seems to be poorer than the DR40 however, I am also recording 24/96k, and I never did that with the DR40. Perhaps that is draining the battery faster. If you do any sort of remote field recording, this thing can not be beat for the price. My favorite aspect of the Tascam line is the "dual record" function, allowing you to record a safety copy at a lower volume in case of unanticipated clipping on the main track.
