I've played bass for 17 years but have really wanted some hand drums just to scratch itches and work with my 6 year old boy on drum technique. I bought this for me and bought the small drum for him (I'll review that as well!).
Plain and simple, this drum has a great COUPLE of tones exactly as I wanted. I can play for hours on end; I'm a 5'9" guy and this fits my lap perfectly.

This Djembe is a real value.

This instrument is made of a solid piece of mahogany wood. The manufacturers description is accurate. I bought the cherry stained large drum. Nicely finished.
This 12" Djembe has a crisp highs and the those deep low tones that only a wood djembe can produce.
Absolute value. You will see simliar instruments for $50-100 more.
