This thing is awesome. I already owned a bunch of UAD plug-ins, so this was a no brainer. Sounds great. Even though DSP is soon going to be obsolete, being able to model preamps is where this unit shines.

Upgrading from Focusrite Clarett. As soon as I found out about the promotion for an L22 Sphere Mic for free I jumped on it. I was going to purchase both items separately and wham, got the mic for free. I was already using a UAD-Satellite with my Focusrite Clarett interface but the Apollo just takes it the next level with the input Unison magic. Highly recommend!

I don’t even think about interfaces or not having enough inputs anymore, i have 5 mics and 2 di’s I like to keep open for if needed. Makes my life soooooo much easier. And 6 dsp chips is a good feature almost like having an octo. The mothership of any studio!

After getting an Apollo x6 interface from another supplier that didn't work Ams came through with an X8P that did. The sound quality is much better than my apollo twin mk2. The plugins are flawless. The CUSTOMER Service with the company is different because of Covid19, expect delays. Also dont expect 9 free plugins if you have the Ultimate bundle. I am still waiting for choices and the same tactic was used when I purchased a new satellite octo thunderbolt 3. So also beware of what's considered one plugin but counted as multiple plugins plugin sales purposes. AS FOR RESPONSES I AM STILL WAITING. It is what it is!

Excellent preamps. I have already invested in the UA plugins so it made sense to buy another UA interface. It works well. Sound wise it is very clean. I have been experimenting with the Unison preamp plug-ins and I am impressed. I highly recommend this interface if you have already or plan on using UA plugins.

Universal Audio makes great stuff. For hardware I own two 710s, one 4-710d, two 1176LN and now with the Apollo X8p. I also have a UAD-QUAD and UAD-OCTO DSP PCIe accelerators. I am a studio owner for 30 years, Advanced Audio Productions, and love the way these plugins work. The only issue I have with the install, is read all the fine print and get all the parts you need before installing. With my Apollo X8P Thunderbolt there are adapters you need to connect to my Windows 10 pro Thunderbolt 3 ports. And not any it has to be a StarTech Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter ($72.00) + a cable and a couple of hrs I wasted trying to figure it out. I wish they would put a little more effort in telling you up front what you need instead of burying it some support page. Do your homework!

I have a Apollo 8P which is the best. I got the Apollo X8P to expand my kit.
I recently updated to a Mac Mini 2018 with Thunderbolt 3. I wanted to have the Thunderbolt 3 Apollo x8P as my first Apollo in my setup.
My current line up is: Mac-Mini 2018 -> Apollo x8P -> Apollo 8P -> UA Satellite OCTO.
I have my UA 4-710d connected via ADAT to the Apollo x8P
I have no dislikes or issues with any of my UA products. I have the highest respect and confidence in UA and their staff.
I use this setup in both my studio and live environments.
Every penny I have spent on UA products has been the best,

UAD technology is as good as it gets! The X series of Apollo interfaces with thunderbolt 3 offers the lowest latency you're going to find in an interface in any price range. Pairing elite convertersion with the finest plugin emulations in the world. This is a must have for any serious audio professional.

The conversion is super clean and the preamps definitely are why they call UAD legendary. I wish they included better plugins considering the money that we spend on one of these things. Also, the setup is not as easy as it seems. Maneuvering between console and your DAW can be a bit of a daunting task at first, but once you have it routed the way you need it it is a great asset to your studio. Definitely day and night compared to my old presonus interact.

I'm a major fan. I had the Apollo Twin prior and this is definitely a step up. I can run significantly more plugins making mixes a breeze. Tracking sounds so good too. In short, you can get a pretty top notch recording studio sound from a single rack.

Quality! What you hear monitoring while recording is what you hear in play back. Conversion is amazing. Took my recordings to the next level. Extra Dsp!
Have yet to run out. I take full advantage of committing to the sound on the way in, I pretend I have a analog set up.

Universal Audio! I am coming from RME, antelope, apogee, Etc etc etc
This interface is the mother of all audio interfaces . If you are serious and professional about your music stop looking around and get this interface . My music came to life again . Alex
