Product Review I'm attempting to replicate the AC30 sound but the AC30 has an open back. This AC4 amp sounds good but it has a closed back and needs that AC30 sound. I modified the back to make it more 'jangly' sounding. It's now just how I want it. An open back is important if you want that 'classic' VOX sound. (in my opinion)

Product Review I’m a studio musician and I’ve had to resort to recording in my apartment. I usually use my AC30 and Black Magick 1695 but those are far too loud for an apartment setting. Here’s your solution!

Product Review I own a Fender Twin a Deluxe Reverb and a Vox AC-15, but I needed a portable amp that would not break my back and sound good enough so I would not sacrifice my tone. This amp is perfect for recording and practice and may even work on small venues. Don't be fooled by the 4-watt power. This little guy is powerful, it plays beautifully and it has that gorgeous and creamy VOX crunch. A reverb would be a very nice, but I can live without it. I am using this mostly for recording anyway and I can add some room in post.

Product Review I have a 15w Fender and 5w Class-A UK made Marshall, however I blew the 10" in the Marshall and have it sitting on two 12"s. So I was looking for something portable and still maintain the tube sound I was used to. This thing is perfect for that, extremely portable. This is the go-to amp, if I want to take the guitar to a different room or out on the deck. The 4w breaks up nicely at a much lower volume than my Marshall and the 12" speaker is nice. This is NOT made in the UK, but still absolutely perfect for what I wanted it for. The grill cloth is pretty spectacular, photos do not do it much justice.

Product Review Good little amp. It was kind of flat but once you put in a better speaker ( I used a Weber Blue Dog Ceramic) and better tubes ( mullard and tung sol) it gets that Vox thing going. Crank it up and let it get going and you will be very pleased. Tame it with your guitar volume knob. A better stock speaker would have brought it to a 5.

Product Review This Vox amp is my first introduction into the world of tube amps as they can be quite expensive! The quality for the price is right on point. Living in NYC, I’ve never had the space to keep a large amp in my apartment, so the size in my opinion is just right. This amp can get pretty loud, so don’t let the size fool you. I play guitar for a worship team so I use this both at home for practice and at church for live performances. I usually mic the cab when using it for performances. There aren’t any built in effects, so keep that in mind. From my experience, this amp takes pedals very well. I like the tone of a naturally overdriven amp, so I usually set the gain and volume right below breakup and use my pedals to push the amp. I highly recommend this, especially for being a genuine Vox Tube amp.

Product Review The sound is totally what you would expect from VOX, bright clean settings and rich distortion. The controls are adequate to obtain just about any sound you would expect to get. Quiet enough for your bedroom, and yet it can get surprisingly loud. It would be nice (from my point of view) if it had reverb and a standby switch. For the price a very good choice.
