I’ve got several drives on my board and this was my latest acquisition. I’ve wanted it for quite some time but ended up going with a J. Rockett Silver Archer when I was last in the market. All I can say is that I wish that I would have gotten this sooner. It’s just a nice weapon to have in your arsenal, or a nice tool to have in your toolbox, or in this case …a nice drive to have on my board. Too bad they don’t allow us to show pics on this review, otherwise I’d show my Tumnus sitting alongside a Friedman BE OD Deluxe, Friedman Smallbox, Friedman Buxom Boost, J. Rockett Silver Archer, and a Fortin Fuzz. My Tumnus Deluxe get most of the action these days.

The Wampler Tumnus Deluxe has a world of sound with the twist of the knobblies! The gain can get meaty and the bass, tone and mid's knobs make drastic changes. I could not find a sound I did not love. In front of other drive pedals it pushes into sonic heaven. While I love my other distortion/overdrives .. I could play a whole show with this pedal.. perhaps a tweak here and there for more or less drive. After a lot of research I agree with every person who plays a Tumnus .. it just has that little bit more.. that edge over other great pedals. Yes, you should but it!

Brian Wampler makes some of the best dirt boxes out there, and this is no exception. Sounds killer by itself or boosting a dirty amp into metal territory. Very versatile, awesome pedal.

I found myself loving my EHX Soul Food and decided to try the Tumnus deluxe to see how it would be. I totally love this pedal. The three band eq lets me adjust for different guitars, amps, or sounds. It’s great as a boost but I really love the drive. It has become my favorite pedal.

If you have a good tube amp, this will help to make it even better. Transparent overdrive may be overhyped, but it sounds really good to me, this is the real deal without the insane price tag.

I like the Tumnus for the same reason most people do. That great pushed clean tone. I prefer the Deluxe for the extra tone control and the little bit of extra gain I can get out if it. Sounds great with a Marshall clean or overdriven. Can't go wrong with this pedal!

Love this pedal. I was previously using a J Rockett Archer (which is great by the way), but this pedal gives that tone and more flexibility. Also the hot button gives just the extra gain i needed. Has an external buffer/true bypass switch. Now i dont have to stack a pedal in front of the archer. Love Wampler pedals

Awesome sound, warm classic rock to grungy Neil young. Gain switching, 3-band eq, true bypass. Wampler hit a home run with the deluxe version. Don’t hesitate, buy it, you want be sorry.

saw this on a review against a Klon and it held it's own against the pricey mythical pedal. had it for almost a month and it does everything extremely well, excellent clean boost and fantastic overdrive and sustain. highly recommended

I was like a little kid on Christmas morning when my Wampler Deluxe arrived at my door. Upon opening you can tell this is a quality pedal. Durable metal case with perfectly stiff knobs. The active EQ is awesome. You can really dial in the sound you want. Very rich overdrive sound. Highly recommend.

Yes, it's a Klon clone, but with more control over your sound, and 1/10 the price of an original.
Yes, it's a Klone, but the additional EQ controls really take it to the next level. Adding the ability to switch between buffered and true bypass really opens up your options of how it sounds.
Built like a tank, this is a great addition to my pedalboard, and the best sounding and most versatile of all the Clones I've used.

This is similar to the non-deluxe tummy’s but with more options. It seems to have slightly less mid-bump, but you can roll it back in with the mid-switch. They are both great, but I would choose the Deluxe because of the added eq flexibility.
