Had my eye on these for a while and glad I took the leap to pick one up. Have it about a month at this point. All the API-viby-goodness plus output attenuator pots to crank the input gain and keep the output level controlled. Solid, heavy, awesome components, and all in a 1u rack! Got this for drum tracking but I'm sure it'll get plenty of use on other sources in down the road. Love the mildly stepped pots and their tension. Def recommend to anyone in need of multiple matched preamps for drums/synths/guitars/etc, tracking. Such a great price for 4 very nice pres. Can't go wrong here.

Warm Audio preamps are the real deal. They sit right at home next to all the legacy brands. The WA-412 does exactly what it's supposed to do with flying colors, and without breaking a sweat. The build quality and sound quality is 100%. There is audibly zero noise even at max gain. I've been using this unit every day for almost 3 months right next to Neve and API units, among others; I'll be purchasing another unit or two soon. This makes vocals pop, guitars huge in your face or laid back and mellow & dreamy, drums simply freakin' awesome, if you don't own a synth get one because going through the WA412; Good God amazing. It can record anything to the best of quality.
I love the flexible access from both the front and back of the unit, and there is a button to engage the front inputs (overriding the rear xlr and trs inputs,) so you don't have to take it out of it's rack space to allocate the preamps for a different source; made even more flexible when running through a patch bay. I love the huge studio sound this unit provides. It's built like a tank, and it will last forever. I've road tested the unit hard, and it's a serious champ.
Cons? I can't think of anything bad about the unit, except that I wish I had more of them.
I doesn't matter who you are or how high your budget is, the WA-412 needs to be at the top of your list when considering a quality set of preamps.
On a side note the owners of Warm Audio are super awesome people. I simply left a comment the owner and his wife took a liking to on one of the Warm Audio youtube videos, and they reached out to me via email asking if they could send me some "thank you goodies." So both the company of Warm Audio and the merchandise from Warm Audio go far above and beyond shattering any idea of expectation. Warm Audio will become the mainstay of all future studios.
American Musical Supply is my #1 go to for all my pro audio and instrument needs. They make everything super easy and right. Also when speaking to folks on the phone they are always awesome to deal with, so don't be afraid to call if you need to; They want to help.

Being able to change out Op-Amps and having instrument inputs on front panel make it a great unit. Sounds great. Doesn’t nail a vintage API, but if you want a great sounding, inexpensive bank of pres with the flexibility for a rookie to modify, buy this unit. A must for every studio.

This preamp blew my mind! The tone is full and robust! Prefect on drums, guitar/bass/ vocals. Very warm and the tone button for some color is very musical! The best part is you get 4 pres in a single rack!

As an avid Warm Audio supporter I was not disappointed with this latest offering.
On top of having 4 punchy and versatile preamps the 4 direct inputs are a huge bonus. I ran my first session with the WA412 on drums. Kick IN/OUT & Snare Top/Bottom. Kick and snare were brought to life with nice punchy mid range and full tonal characters. Tapped into the DI's next for bass and some scratch guitars. Overall great unit for the price point. Next question is do I add some more WA76 compressors to pair with the WA412? hmmmm probably yes.

My new go-to preamp! I've used it in both studio and live application and it performs beautifully in both. Nice bit of saturation before overload and tone button adds some nice tone-sculpting options. Plus DI, phantom power, pad, and polarity on every channel!

Have not record a whole lot with it yet,but from what I did record i can tell this is a very nice pre amp,no complaints. The knobs are super solid,like i could hit it with a hammer and would probably be okay type soild,was not expecting that.very pleased, got a pair of these
