I got this to help with practice and wow has it blown me away. With just a single mic you can hear your full kit. Even better is using your phone to play music through it and playing along to it! This thing has really helped me get my timing vastly improved while playing along to my fave tunes. There's a companion app (Rec N Share) that you can even record video with your music and drums recorded. So cool! And AMS payment plans made it super easy and afforfable!

Very cool for recording! Headphone sound is great. Feedback problems playing live. Hard to get a good monitor sound without feedback. Even the main speakers feedback when you get loud. Also my unit malfunctioned after a few gigs, the triggers quit working. Sending it out to be repaired.

Pros: Tons of fun. Makes me love to practice again. Onboard effects work well, Compressor in particular. One stop solution for recording drums to share or create.
Cons: Not as good for live shows as I thought it would be. Trigger tough to dial in if you play with subtlety. Most of the preset scenes are useless.

What an amazing product! Just clamped the unit on my bass drum hoop and plugged in the main unit. Hooked it up to my iPad, and started recording. The effects are super cool, and the extra triggers add a special touch to this. Would highly recommend.

Every drummer should have this!! I'm surprised it doesn't cost more!! My favorite feature of this is how it uses its own audio as you hear it rather than the device mic. Rec and share makes it so easy to use the EAD10 and upload your stuff!! Get one!!!

when you get this product in the mail and get it unboxed it is very easily to hook it up I also use shure sm57 mics and a akgd112 bass mic along with the yamaha snare trigger the effects are amazing all i can say is if you are looking for a different sound out of your drum kit this product is worth a try you wiil be stuned of all the effects this unit has to offer look no further if you want unlimited control and sounds. AMAZING!

The Yamaha EAD10 was exactly what the doctor ordered. From small gigs to large shows, this delivers a powerful punch. The AMS staff was amazing in helping me choose and work my way through the setup porcess. I am sold on the EAD and AMS. You will be getting all of my business from now on, along with my endorsement to all of mymusician friends.

I've only had the EAD 10 for a few weeks and have been trying all the sounds. For the price you get the ability to make your kit sound like it's from the 70's to hip hop, to some funky weird sounds that are fun to play with, if you ever get bored. The microphone works awesome as long as you're the only one in the room. Being an open mic It does pick up background noises that you can hear in the headphones when you stop playing. As far as using it for live settings, I'm not sure. More than likely you'll have some bleed over from whatever else is going on. How that translates into what's recorded, maybe someone else could answer that question better. - The app works as advertised but with one caveat. Not every song in the iTunes library will be available to play along with and record. Haven't got an official word as to why but I'd imagine it would be due to copyrighting. Playing along with any song seems to be no problem as my tablet is set up as an input device and it's been fine. You can record drums into Garage Band if you have a Mac to tweak the sounds even more. - I was looking at close to $2k+ to mic my drums not to mention the additional software and a new Mac to run said software, however this does it at a fraction of the cost. Well done Yamaha, well done!

I bought this for home use, and it is an amazing little box to add to any setup for practice, but what I have found is for live setups I can run this unit and a B52 on the kick and get great Drums! Yamaha you outdid yourselves on this one!

Once I figured out how it works and you need a apple iPhone or iPad to make it work right it's pretty cool. The cost if you don't have a iOS device gets into the 1000's.$550 for the ead10 $400 to $1000 for iOS device, stands or whatever you want to sit it on, well it gets pricey. Once you set it up right not bad.

I don't know if everyone understands the greatness of this product. This is a drum module that only requires ONE trigger to modify the sound of the entire drum set. You can add more triggers for more specific drum effects, but only one is necessary. We recently started using instrument backup tracks on Ableton Live to cover the instruments we don't have in our church worship team. Up until now, the drums felt disconnected from the rest of the tracks and band. With the EAD10, we can now mic the whole drum set and alter its sound with just 2 triggers, one for the snare and the included kick drum mic/trigger for the rest of the drum set and it sounds great. Game changer!
