Product Rating Product Review I wanted to get back into playing the keyboard. I taught myself using an old pipe organ before moving on to portable keyboards. However, I always loved the feel and sound of playing a real piano. I was interested in purchasing the Yamaha YDP184R initially, but could not justify the cost. Instead, I bought a cheaper digital piano. Almost immediately, I had buyers remorse. Especially when the other digital piano started to have trouble within two days of my receiving it. I decided that if I wanted a digital piano that could perform as a regular piano and made by a respectable company, Yamaha was the logical choice. When looking for a digital piano, I wanted a keyboard that had the weighted keys, three pedals, and sounded like a real piano. One of the features I love about the Yamaha was the ability to use my Ipad to change the sounds through the Yamaha Smart Pianist App. The sounds are amazing and crisper than the other digital piano. There are other features available on the Smart Pianist App, but I have not played with them yet. The product is heavy, with a weight of 230 pounds. My husband had to help me get it into our basement. I will say that when you get the keyboard part out of the box and put it on its side, the assembly is easy. I was able to do that by myself in less than 20 minutes. My husband had to help me put it upright. If you are looking for a digital piano that sounds like a real piano, allows you to interact with it using an Ipad or iPhone, and made by a company known for its quality - look no further. You will not be disappointed in the Yamaha YDP184R.

Product Review Bought this piano for my son and he loves it so much. The sound setting and function are great. It is also easy to install, but definitely needs 2 persons at least to do it. And also it comes with the bench from Yamaha, even though the customer service said it doesn't comes with bench lol.

Product Review This is a great digital piano. It is great sound and weighted keys. If you don’t have room for a big, full-size piano , this is a great choice ! Great sound !

Product Review Easy to assemble but it’s heavy so it’s a definitely a two ppl job. Keys are nicely weighted on a heavier side. USB out is convenient for recording track. Digital sound is excellent with great speakers. Definitely worth extra $ from lower end models.

Product Review I've had this piano for about 2-3 weeks. It is sturdy, but also heavy, as I had to carry this 200 pound monster up three flights of stairs! I like the fact that you can alter the touch to "heavy 2" which requires more force in order to make notes sound. The features are sufficient as there are ways to manipulate the sound from touch, reverb, body resonance, pedal sensitivity, etc. I wish this model came with the Bösendorfer piano. I've owned the YDP 161 (when that was the available--maybe this is the 163 now?), and the YDP 184R just feels and sounds much better, feeling very close to an acoustic piano in touch and sound. The menu is easy to navigate (LCD), and so are the power/volume controls. I keep this in my living room, play classical and jazz, and also teach lessons. I like the cabinetry too, as it looks like an upright. This is a piano for the serious student or professional.
