I have been a beginning piano picker for the past 35 years and and have played a lot of pianos and keyboards and found the Yamaha YPG535 a wonderfully made and a lot of fun keyboard that will get a lot of use! I only give it 4 stars not because I am not 5 star happy but because there has to be better out there somewhere. However, I am very pleased with it and have been playing it constantly since it arrived. I recommend this to beginners as well as experienced players. This is my 3rd purchase from American Musical Supply and you can't beat them for great products as well as great payment plans that let me afford the gear I want when I want it. Highly recommend the Grand Piano to everyone for it is a trusted instrument, and easy to use whether you're a professional or new pianist. I have been looking at this piano for a few years and finally bit the bullet on this in April. I have always enjoyed the piano and playing around on keyboard. The quality of the sounds are top notch and there are so many options it will take some time to learn even a fraction of whats offered. Very elegant and classy looking. I would highly recommend to someone looking that does not want to spend a fortune and you cant beat the flexible payment plans AMS offers!

I’ve owned two of these over the last 15 years and both were amazing! Bought this most recently for my 14 year old daughter who took an interest in piano/keyboard. It works perfect for her and she can even record her own songs right from the built in interface! She loves the many sounds available and spends hours playing. It’s a perfect starter/intermediate keyboard. The keys are weighted but still pretty light but for the price you can’t beat this keyboard!

My son taught himself how to play just from watching YouTube videos. We got him a cheap beginner keyboard that lasted maybe 2 years. For his 14th birthday he asked for an 88 key keyboard. He has been playing nonstop since we got this in the mail. He loves all the different effects it has, recording option. The next step is getting him a pc to connect to and save all his music.

I love Yamahas, i brought one a few years ago for myself. My mothers' day present to my house. someone came and asked me for it for thier son who lives in another country. I gave it to them thinking i will be able to afford another one. Its been 15 years now. I was determine to buy myself one but could not really afford it.so this christmas went browing on line and saw this one for the first time. I immediately fell in love with it. It plays beautiful. I bought the piano at the “scratch and dent” sale after reading reviews.
It arrived 2 days early. Easy assembly, the “scratch” was almost invisible. Plays like a dream, sounds like a genuine grand, more options than I know what to do with.

The keyboard I ordered was a "non factory sealed" item, I was expecting to see a blemish or two but to my surprise it arrived in perfect condition. I recieved my keyboard 2 days after I ordered it and it was packaged securely. I didn't know it was going to include the stand so that was also a nice surprise. I am very satified.

The YPG535, is a great sounding and playing instrument. Many years ago I had the DGX series and enjoyed it as well. I've been writing songs and recording for many years and when I play the YPG'so piano up against my MOX8 I find the piano a very close comparison. If your on the shelf and considering the YPG, for learning the piano or a great living room piano that's easy to use then I would say go for it.
If your looking for high end recording features and high end other instrument sounds you may want to consider another instrument. Personally I like it so much that it will remain in my list of fun instruments to play

It's a great keyboard and has wonderful sounds. The Grand Pianos are unbelievable. My only gripe with this keyboard is that the LED screen failed after 2 years and the keyboard is useless without it. Called Yamaha and a new LED costs $180.00 almost half what I paid for the whole board! Yamaha would not fix it on their dime even though this LED issue is definitely a quality issue and is their fault.

Easy....but you have to sit with the manual and be patient and go through it step by step in order to get the most value out of this unit.
Sounds awesome....way good enough to gig with in a live setting. Pianos are professional sounding. Live, Sweet, and cool voices are really fantastic. Tenor Sax my favorite...sounds just like the real thing dynamics and all.

I had a minor glitch with the power cord when I first bought it, but AMS sent me a new one out, and all is good.
the grand piano sound is one of the best features of this. Also, full keyboard is a must, I am glad we got this model for that reason, stereo sound is great, and the number of features on this is astounding, I'm truy impressed for all you get for the price.
this unit took me a short time to get the hang of the features....including drum machine, keyboard sounds, etc., but my kids and I both can find the type of settings we want with ease.
the (specific) tones are great, we use it for many different kinds of music, (pop, blues, country, etc.) and my kids and I haven't really cracked into all the goodies with this thing yet.
very nice, I had to install the stand, which came with the tool to do so. I was playing 20 minutes after I opened box, and my kids fell in love with it.
Definately a great deal for the money...I looked at a few different online stores, and local music stores, and I couldn't find one close to this deal I got.

The material is well manufactured.I've moved my piano around many times and it has not suffered wear and tear damage.
I love that is has many different sounds to experiment with.One of the best features of the piano is that it allows you to arrange and compose several voices together.It's great for those who are at the beginner to intermidiate level because it's easy on the fingers.
The Product is not too complicated to use.Although it may have many features it is easy to use with a little practice.
The tone is awesome!It sounds almost like an authentic piano.The one problem is that if you put the volume on too high and combine that with the sustain pedal the sound between the bass and the melody is not seperated evenly.The pedal does help fill out the music so it does not sound too staccato but you have to becareful because it can deminish the sound of the melody.I recommend just not to put the volume on max.However, overall it sounds great!

Seems to be made very well - Looks expensive too!!
Song play-a-long, high sounding quality presets, and ease of use.
Was a Christmas present to our daughter, and she been glued to it! She's dabbled very little with playing this type of instrument, and lets just say, the stuff that she has coming out thus far is incredible!
Superb, and that is just through the speakers! Haven't tried amping it yet.

Nice sound. loads of tones, Well made. midi software is easy to use.
Graded keys work well. Display easy to read, as well as function lay out.
Very easy to use. Good instructions. Yamaha educational suite helpful with great on- line support and music store.
Great Sounds, speakers are top notch.
Ready to rock out of the box.
Well worth the price paid. Would recomend it to a friend.

Yamaha has made some great keyboards, I have another about 25 yrs old and still working Great. Just wanted the extra features on this YPG-535. Yamaha has done a fine job again!!
I like the 88 keys, no limitations.
Looks to be very user friendly, has many levels, from the beginner to the professional.
The "Grand Piano" sounds like a real Grand
