I purchased this Zildjian Custom Dark K pack from AMS for my son at Christmas. He's 16 and has been playing in Jazz Band for the last 5 years. He had been using some low budget cymbals forever; my old cymbals. Excited doesn't even come close to describing his reaction when opening them. For a Jazz musician these are a must. The ride swims deep, and, you still hear definition. The crashes cut hard, then shimmer with a smooth decay. And those hi-hats... I have heard nothing like them and now I want them. I purchased A Customs from AMS 8 years ago and they rock, however, it seems I now need to broaden my horizons with the Zildjian K Custom Darks.

These are some of the most crisp sounding cymbals I have ever heard! The hi-hat has a nice crisp chick sound when closed and the decay doesn't resonate so long when opened. The same can be said of the set of crashes and are very clean sounding. The bell of the ride, the ride itself and hitting the ride like a crash adds many different textures when playing. The other accessories are nice as well. Having a small container filled with different necessities such as felts, wrench and other needs is a major plus. The Cymbal Bag is probably the best accessory mostly because you can carry them all in one backpack style bag. Other than that two thumbs up and 100% seal of approval.

Love the K Dark Cymbals especially for studio work. Everything in the pack is usable and has its place in my setup. I wish they would offer the 22” Ride in these Cymbal Packs however. The 20” is not perfect for all my music styles.

As soon as I got them I used in rehearsal, and my band mates thanks me for buying them. “I can go home without my ears ringing” they said. Very nice warm sounds, great for small applications, venues and Churches. Sounds are amazingly matched and complete any set.

These cymbals live sound trashy like a china If your in the same space rehearsing next to these you'll hear a trashy wash with the ride and crashes. The hats sound chicky if thats even a real word. The 18 sounds way more full than the 16. The 16 inch crash sounds a lil too weak for my taste. All this changes when you record these and hear the raw tracks. They all sound pre mixed in the raw tracks this IS the set for recording the darkness in these really comes out when recorded with some decent mics! Too Long Didn't Read version this set won't wow anyone until you hear them recorded!

Awesome cymbal pack. Usually not convinced by cymbal packs but these play well together. Lovely sound and finish. The cymbal bag was a great bonus as well. It is padded nicely and feels durable. Great value set and high quality sounding at the price point as would be expected.
