If you are like me, and bass guitar is not your primary instrument, then this multi-effects pedal is a great value for the money. I much prefer to use this rather than a vst. I have also used it live, and with my propensity to break stuff, this holds up very well. I've always thought that Zoom effects units are a lot of fun, and this holds true for the B1 Four as well. But the most important thing is the quality of the sounds. With a little tweaking, which usually means dialing back on the intensity of the effects, this sounds very satisfying. I would have no problem recommending this to anybody. Enjoy!

Pretty good for how cheap it is. The effects are plentiful and are all useful. With the exception of the “explosion” effect.

I've used the Zoom B1 Four just over a year now. It offers a wide variety of nice effects which are easily customized and combined, though I primarily use a little compression and EQ. What makes it indispensable to me is the Pitch Shift. I can practice a song recorded in, say, G# to my singer's preference of B, or whatever. The tone of that effect is ghastly; I'd never use it live, but for learning a cover in a different key, it's a godsend. The Aux In is nice for the same reason and the Out used with headphones makes for domestic tranquility. I wouldn't hesitate to replace it.

I bought this so I wouldn't have horrible sound running directly to the soundboard. This thing sounds great and is very easy to program once you hook it to your computer. I'm primarily a guitar player and can be a bit of a tone snob and I like this little box.

I really enjoy this little machine it's like a multi-tool for me from tuning up your guitar and simulating other bass amplifiers and let's not forget the multi sound effects it's mad crazy
