It all started with a modified Fender Princeton amplifier back in 1969… There was experimentation and pockets of interest around the concept of high-gain amps in the late 1960s, but it was Randall Smith who took his initial hot-rodded Fenders and really ran with the idea. The original Boogie combo was born shortly thereafter and ushered in a new era for tube amplifiers. Today, Mesa/Boogie continues to make their amps with the same level of care and precision as those legendary predecessors, taking advantage of modern advances and new technology to meet the demands of today's players. The ‘Mark' series of combos is the next stage in Boogie evolution, packing more tone-shaping tools and controls into one box than ever before.
