Product Description

Wanting to push the big instrument sound to a whole new level, Breedlove is delighted to introduce the Oregon Concerto crafted with an all myrtlewood body. The Oregon Concerto E Myrtlewood – Myrtlewood is a body size larger than the award-winning Concert model, delivering more projection from the larger Concerto body shape. Engineered for heavy play style, this acoustic-electric guitar has become a favorite of players around the world. The Breedlove sound comes through bold and clean with balanced bass, mids and highs reminiscent of rosewood. Engineered to perfection, this guitar is ideal for strumming and rhythm, but it’s not just loud; it has more note-to-note clarity than most large body guitars. The maple neck complements the myrtlewood in tonal perfection. Myrtlewood is locally sourced in the Pacific Northwest – a short distance from where they are hand-crafted in small batches by our dedicated craftsmen. The myrtlewood sound stays true when amplified through the highly reliable LR Baggs EAS VTC electronics. You will sound better, play better and play more on a Breedlove Oregon Series guitar.

The Oregon Myrtlewood Series
With its hypnotic, variegated color patterns and unique sonic clarity, melding, somehow, the best aspects of rosewood, mahogany and maple, myrtlewood would qualify as one of the great exotic tonewoods. But it’s native! It grows—gnarled, strong and beautiful—on Oregon’s rainy, windswept Pacific coast, just 90 miles from Bend. Breedlove, in fact, led the charge in using myrtle for fine guitars, and that proud lineage continues with the best-selling Oregon series. Denser than Sitka spruce, myrtlewood—as a result of Sound Optimization®—can be planed and sanded even thinner, releasing more energy for a balanced profile alive with bass, midrange and treble in equal measure. Now available in all four revolutionary Breedlove body styles, and with contemporary soft cutaways, each Oregon series guitar—in Cinnamon Burst, Bourbon Burst or Natural finish—is equipped with LR Baggs EAS VTC electronics and comes with a deluxe Breedlove hardshell case.

Sustainable & Clear-Cut Free
Breedlove uses no clear-cut woods in its Made in Bend models. It’s that’s simple. Featuring sustainably sourced all solid exotic and native tonewoods handcrafted by skilled luthiers who are as sensitive to the needs of the earth as they are to building the best sounding and playing guitars available anywhere.

Concerto Body Shape
Loud, textured and supremely satisfying, Breedlove’s proprietary Concerto delivers more volume and more nuance than the standard classic dreadnought. Our largest body shape retains trademark Breedlove playing comfort while summoning a lush, complex tonal response.

Myrtlewood Top, Back & Sides
Popularized by Breedlove, myrtlewood, from the windblown Oregon coast, combines the best elements of rosewood, mahogany and maple—rich bass, warm midrange and clear, bright trebles—for truly versatile guitars. Each sonically distinct instrument is individualized by the gnarled, wildly varied, but always arresting grain patterns.

Sound Optimization® & Hand Voicing
Why do Breedlove guitars sound so good? It’s simple, Breedlove guitars are made with care, with the goal of allowing you to play better, sound better and play more. But it’s also complex, with art, inspiration, craft and science merging together in a process we call Sound Optimization®. These models are hand voiced, with experienced luthiers meticulously tapping, listening and shaving away tiny curls of exquisite tonewood as they target specific, measurable frequencies that will make each unique, individual instrument sound its very best. The tone wood species are carefully milled, weighed and considered, with backs and tops specifically tuned to each other to create light, responsive guitars with superior tone and sustain.

The Breedlove Neck
Breedlove guitar necks feature a slimmer neck profile, which enables comfortable play, even with smaller hands. Unlike traditional dovetail neck joints that require major surgery for a neck re-set, it is easy to adjust the play action and neck angle with the Breedlove bolt-on neck and single-action truss rod. The hand-rubbed, semi-gloss Breedlove neck finish contributes to ideal playability – the finish process alone takes three days, including precise finish coat applications, fine sanding, and hand buffing and rubbing.

LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY
Breedlove players around the world can attest: With consistent, proper care, your Breedlove will give you a lifetime of service – and inspiration. New Breedlove instruments, purchased through an authorized Breedlove dealer, are warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship throughout the lifetime of the original owner. In addition to materials and workmanship, Breedlove offers a two-year warranty on tuning machines and electronics packages. Cases and bags are subject to a one-year warranty covering defects in structure and hardware.
