Pioneer DJ equipment

CD, vinyl, or digital, Pioneer DJ has all the gear producers and performers need to create mix, match, and scratch their way to incredible performances. Pioneer has been at the head of the DJ movement from the beginning, designing and manufacturing some of the best gear on the market. Whether you want an all-in-one controller, the best software, or a pair of stylish yet functional professional headphones, Pioneer DJ has you covered.

Pioneer DJ controllers

The controller is the tool of the modern DJ. They’re the complete package when it comes to creating club-bumping mixes. With jog wheels, touchpads, mixers, faders, screens, and more, Pioneer DJ controllers are some of the best in the business. Just hook up your laptop, open your favorite DJ software (like Serato DJ or Pioneer’s own rekordbox), and you’re ready to spin!

At the heart of Pioneer’s controller offerings is the DDJ series. Super portable and full of functionality, they’re the go-to controller for gigging DJs. They’re designed to emulate the look and feel of vinyl turntables, so you can really enjoy that old-school DJ experience.

Whether you’re looking for the typical club DJ controller like the DDJ-FLX series or a more battle-oriented controller like the DDJ-REV, you can’t go wrong with a Pioneer DJ controller and its many tools and integrations. Want to take your DJing up a level (or several)? Check out the all-in-one XDJ series or the even more ridiculous OPUS QUAD controller for everything you need to start living your DJ dream, packed into one feature-filled controller.

Pioneer players and turntables

How do you like to play music? Whether you prefer the old-school sound of vinyl, want to put your CD collection to good use, or use your massive album of digital downloads, Pioneer DJ players and turntables are ready for the task.

Pioneer basically wrote the book when it comes to modern turntables and players. With their incredible sound quality and durability, they can handle even the longest DJ set or scratch battle.

The Pioneer PLX series of direct-drive turntables are designed to make your vinyl sound amazing and offer plenty of modern features. The Pioneer PLX CRSS12 can even bring you the best of both worlds, with the ability to play both analog vinyl and digital music!

If you want to highlight your impressive CD collection, the Pioneer CDJ turntables and players let you play your compact disks just like vinyl records. Use the jog wheels to control CD playback, change speed, and even scratch!

Pioneer DJ mixers

When you want to link your turntables together to seamlessly transition between songs, or if you want modern DJ features like touchpads, magnetic faders, and onboard effects, a Pioneer DJ mixer is the perfect addition to your setup.

Whether you’re looking for a small battle-style mixer built for speed with just the essentials or a feature-packed, multi-channel monster that’s ready to handle anything, Pioneer makes all sorts of mixers designed to fulfil your every channel-shifting need.

Pioneer audio

Putting together mixes, swapping channels, and adding effects is always fun. But you need to hear your beats in full high-quality audio to get the mix just right. Pioneer DJ audio equipment is ready to showcase your amazing tunes exactly as they’re meant to be heard.

In the studio, you can master your mixes to perfection with a set of Pioneer studio monitors. These powered monitors are ready to provide lush sounds across the entire sonic spectrum to help you create the perfect set for your next DJ gig.

And when you get to the gig, you want the crowd to be blown away by your incredible mixes — perhaps even literally! Pioneer DJ PA speakers and subwoofers are ready to bring the noise with a wide selection of sizes and power levels to fit any live sound need.

There’s nothing cooler than a DJ holding headphones up to their ear with one hand and spinning with the other. Of course, those headphones do serve a purpose, too… And there’s hardly anything better than a set of Pioneer DJ headphones to help you cue your set (and look good doing it).

History of Pioneer DJ

Pioneer got its start in 1937 as an electrical repair company. They specialized in fixing all sorts of radios and speakers in Japan. They also developed the Pioneer A-8, which was the first dynamic speaker built from completely original components in the country!

Pioneer first began as the Fukuin Shokai Denki Seisakusho company and operated under that name for many years. However, in 1961, the company rebranded under the name Pioneer Electric Corporation — luckily for anyone who didn’t want to learn how to pronounce the original name…

Pioneer continued to repair and produce speakers and radios for decades. But in 1994, they launched the world’s first DJ deck designed for CDs. The CDJ-500 was a top-loaded CD deck designed for professional DJs. It allowed DJs to control tempo, nudge tracks, and cue music with a basic jog wheel. At the same time, they released a complementary mixer: the DJM-500, which featured several onboard effects.

Over the years, Pioneer continued to be at the forefront of the DJ world. They released the very first DVJ, which could read and play DVDs, and set the bar for digital DJ equipment. In 2009, Pioneer released their own DJ software, rekordbox, which is still one of the most popular DJ software solutions used by musicians everywhere.

By 2014, Pioneer held over half of the entire DJ market share! And their equipment became the industry standard in clubs around the world.

In 2015, the Pioneer Corporation sold most of their DJ equipment business to a private equity firm, which established Pioneer DJ as we know it. Today, Pioneer DJ operates under the parent corporation AlphaTheta with the goal to become “One Through Music.” They continue to produce some of the best and most innovative DJ equipment around. Whether you’re a beginner looking to get into the scene or a professional DJ looking to up their game, Pioneer DJ equipment is ready to help turn your dreams of mixing and scratching into reality.
