About the Author - Kent Priestley

Kent Priestley

Kent Priestley writes about music and other subjects from his home in Wilmington, Delaware. His interests include early bluegrass, 1950s jazz, psychedelia and the music of West Africa. In his perfect version of himself, he would play guitar like Jerry Garcia, bass like Paul Chambers and piano like Thelonious Monk. In addition to his work for American Musical Supply, Kent’s writing on music has appeared in The Oxford American, the Old-Time Herald and a number of other publications. He plays a mahogany-bodied Martin OMM guitar and still owns the Yamaha classical guitar his parents bought him for his 13th birthday.
