Want all the details on the AMS 0% Interest Payment Plans? Here are some answers to commonly asked questions.

How does the payment plan work?

American Musical Supply’s Payment Plan is a billing program. This means you do NOT need to apply for a new credit card that you may not want or need. The financing is all AMS and AMS’s standards, so there’s zero interest charged and no third party approving your purchase! AMS offers 3, 6, 8 and 12 0% Interest Payment Plans, and orders that qualify are broken up into equal payments based on the plan selected including any taxes and shipping charges. The first payment will be made at the time your order ships. Then every 31 days after your product has shipped the subsequent payments will automatically be made with the credit card on file. Are you wondering how much your payments will be? It’s really easy, each item will tell you if by itself it qualifies for an Payment Plan and how much each payment will be. However just because an item doesn’t qualify doesn’t mean your order won’t. Once you place all of your needed gear into your cart you will see and can select any of the applicable AMS 0% Interest Payment Plan that order qualifies for. After you select a plan your payments are broken out in the payment details as “Today’s Payment” and subsequent payments!

When do you ship the order out?

We ship the order shortly after approval, and that is when the first payment is made. If the item is on backorder we authorize the first payment, but don’t actually make the charge on the card until the order ships.

Can I pay off my payment plan early? If so, are there any fees for doing so?

Yes, a payment plan can be paid off early by contacting Account Services at 1-877-281-8332 Mon-Fri 8am-8pm Eastern time, Saturday 9am-1pm Eastern time. There are no extra fees involved. Customers can also email acctserv@americanmusical.com with any balance questions.

When does the first payment come out?

The first payment is made when the order ships. If the item is on backorder we authorize the first payment but we don’t actually make the charge on your card until the order ships.

Do I get charged the application fee for every new order?

An application fee is only charged one time per order, but yes, an application fee is charged on each new order. This modest fee helps us offset the cost of processing the installments on the order.

Do you charge interest?

No, we do not charge interest on these extended AMS 0% Interest Payment Plans.

What if I have bad or no credit?

With AMS you are not applying for a new credit card, you are using your own existing card. This means you are more likely to be approved. We also take into consideration your history as a customer with us, which we value.

When is my next payment due?

The remaining balance is billed every thirty one (31) days after your product has shipped. The subsequent payments will automatically be made with the credit card on file. To view your next due date simply select "My Next Payment" at the top of the AMS Website and log into your account.

How do I find out the amount left to pay on an Payment plan?

Select My Account at the top of the AMS Website, then My Next Payment, log into your account, and you will have access to information on your next payment amount and next payment due date, payment history and other order related information. You can also confirm your balance due by contacting Account Services at 1-877-281-8332 Mon-Fri 8am-8pm Eastern time, Saturday 9am-1pm Eastern time. E-mail reminders are sent 5 days in advance of your next payment. Customers can also email acctserv@americanmusical.com with any balance questions.

Why do I have to provide my Social Security Number?

AMS 0% Interest Payment Plans all require a credit check and approval. This is customary in most any billing program.

Can I pick the date that my payment comes out?

No, the payments are automatically deducted every 31 days after the order ships, so this is determined up front, and cannot be altered. However, this does not change the due date you have with your credit card provider.

Can I mail the order in and make payments with a personal check or money order?

No, AMS 0% Interest Payment Plans are only available for use with credit or debit cards drawn on banks located within the 50 United States.

Can I add an item to my current payment plan?

After a payment plan order has been shipped and processed we are not able to add additional items to the order. We can place a new order for you, and if that new order qualifies it would be placed on another installment plan.

Can I make an extra payment or pay off the account at any time?

Yes, you can make extra payments or pay off the account completely by contacting the Account Services Department at 1-877-281-8332, Mon-Fri 8am-8pm Eastern time, Saturday 9am-1pm Eastern time. Customers can also email acctserv@americanmusical.com with any balance questions. There are no extra fees involved.

Why don’t I get the payment plan option on DSP products?

DSP (Dent & Scratch) items are heavily discounted products, with prices so low we are not able to extend payments on those products.

Is the payment plan based on the total price of the order or by item?

All of our current payment plans are based on order totals.

What is the dollar amount that will qualify for each payment plan option?

3-pay plans $79.00-$1,000.00, 6-pay plans $379.00-$1,250.00, 8-pay plans $599.00-$2,000.00, 12-pay plans $899.00-$3,000.00.

Can I have more than one item on a payment plan?

Yes, more than one item on a payment plan is allowed.

What if I have multiple items on my order, but some are on back order?

Each installment plan has a separate due date. The items that ship right away will be on their own installment plan and when the backordered item ships it will also be on its own separate installment plan. But when you add the 2 payments together it equals the same as if they shipped simultaneously.

Can I use my debit card?

Yes, you can use a debit or credit card.

How much will I have to pay today?

The first payment will include the first installment and your one time application fee, in addition to a portion of your shipping and tax. The applicable tax and shipping are distributed among all payments.

How much will my payment be?

Can I use 2 cards, one for the shipping and one for the payment?

No, the first payment must be done on one credit or debit card.

Is a credit check required for all AMS 0% Interest Payment Plans?

A credit check is required on all AMS 0% Interest Payment Plans.

Can I get an 8-pay or a 12-pay as the order dollar amount increases?

8 and 12 pay plans are offered on order total. All payment options available are noted in the shopping cart.

Why is a product that is within the payment plan threshold not available on the 6, 8 or 12 pay plan?

The majority of our products fall within our standard payment thresholds. We work closely with our suppliers to offer extended payments and from time-to-time payment plans may vary by vendor.

Why can’t customers in Puerto Rico and Canada have the payment plan?

Our extended AMS 0% Interest Payment Plans are only available on orders which are billed and shipped to addresses in the 50 United States.

Can I use a gift card to pay for a payment or be applied towards an open payment?

Gift cards may be redeemed at the time of purchase, but cannot be applied to payments thereafter.

Can I use a reloadable/prepaid card on an AMS 0% Interest Payment Plan?

No, we are not able to use this type of card on our AMS 0% Interest Payment Plans.

What is my credit limit with AMS?

Depending on the results of the credit check, you may be approved for a credit limit up to:

  • $1,000 for a 3-pay plan
  • $1,250 for a 6-pay plan
  • $2,000 for a 8-pay plan
  • $3,000 for a 12-pay plan

With this specific item – what number of payments does it qualify for?

Each product will display directly on the item page if it qualifies for a Payment Plan. However just because an item may not qualify doesn’t mean your order won’t. Can I have more than one active pay plan at a time?

Yes, you can have more than one active pay plan at a time. Open financed balances will be included when determining finance limits on new orders. Results of the credit check will dictate the maximum pay plan balance available on your account.

What are the amounts of the application fees?

  • 3 Pay Plan - $6.95
  • 6 Pay Plan - $13.95
  • 8 Pay Plan - $16.95
  • 12 Pay Plan -$24.95

Can I make an additional "down payment" to lower my monthly payments?

Additional payments can only be made after the initial payment is processed. Additional Payments are applied first to your next payment due.
