Electro-Voice ELX Series Loudspeakers
Serious Sound. Simple Setup.
The ELX Series is the workhorse of the Electro-Voice line; proving itself night after night, in town after town after town. Rugged, reliable, and ready to rock, these lightweight loudspeakers feature “hands-on” immediate control, and quickly adapt to changing demands. Inside, the ELX Series models use the same transducers and titanium compression drivers found in the market-leading ZLX Series. Outside, the ELX Series 15mm plywood cabinets are covered in road-resistant textured paint and fitted with deep scoop handles, powder-coated steel grills, and pole-mount receptors. The result is a robust, powerful, and musical loudspeaker that commands any stage.
Dual 15" 2-Way
Electro-Voice ELX loudspeakers fill any hall with solid, satisfying sound. Asymmetrical cabinet designs allow 2-Way ELX (not including the ELX-215) models to be used both upright—providing 90° x 50° coverage—or lying down as wedge monitors. EVS-K low-frequency transducers are matched with 1.5" DH-1K titanium high-frequency compression drivers through an internal crossover for full-spectrum reproduction. ELX Series subwoofers include a pole-base mount to achieve full separation.
Plug & Play
Each powered ELX Series loudspeaker features two XLR+1/4" Combo inputs, each with its own input gain knob. Input 2 offers a mic/line switch, which can be ideal when plugging a microphone directly into the system for announcements or emcee work. Stereo RCA inputs are also provided to accommodate the output from a DJ/EDM mixer or other external sound source. The single XLR Link output can be switched to pass along the summed signal from both input channels, or simply the signal from Input 1. Passive ELX models feature secure dual SpeakON connectors.
Note: The ELX-118P Powered Sub features one XLR+1/4" Combo input.
ELX Series 2-Way active loudspeakers are powered by a 1000 Watts of clean Class D power. The ELX-118P powered sub provides 700 Watts. Highly-efficient digital amplification significantly reduces the weight of the loudspeaker and minimizes heat buildup.
Sonic System Settings
ELX Series powered loudspeakers and subwoofers provide instant control to keep your system sounding its best. Set the FULL RANGE/WITH SUB switch to the correct position; use the FULL RANGE setting if no subwoofer is in use, or use WITH SUB when a subwoofer is part of the system. The FULL RANGE EQ switch in normally set FLAT for vocal, speech and instrument applications. Choosing the MID-CUT position will slightly lower the mid-range frequencies, providing better clarity when playing back recorded music. The ELX-118P Subwoofer includes a SUBWOOFER EQ switch that can be set to provide a dynamic boost to the low-end for enhanced bass performance.
