AMS and Loudwire present the gear of John 5

Describing his own style as “Hee-Haw meets Metal”, John 5 has garnered heavy praise from guitar legends such as Slash, Rickey Medlocke, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Paul Gilbert. Born in Grosse Pointe Michigan in 1971, John William Lowery was given the name John 5 upon joining Marilyn Manson’s band, with whom he served for five years. Prior to that, one early break included working with the legendary Lita Ford. In 1996, John bested over 2,000 other guitarists and was selected to perform with K.D. Lang. He was then tapped to be David Lee Roth’s sideman, earning songwriting as well as guitar playing credits on “The DLR Band” album. John 5 currently serves as Rob Zombie’s sideman, a position he’s held since 2012. Other credits include Garbage; Meat Loaf; Paul Stanley; Static-X; The Scorpions; and Alice Cooper, just to name a few.
