The Sojurn Port is the perfect take-anywhere travel acoustic bass. The compact size of the Sojourn Port makes it a great option for travel. But the design, tone, and features mean this is a gig-ready acoustic bass. The Koa body is beautiful, it is so much more than good looks! We selected it for the tone and projection that we were able to achieve in this unique model. The 24.75" scale length makes this instrument fun to play and allows each string to perform well.
One challenge with many travel basses is that they are hard to hear because of the way lower frequencies project. We overcame this on the Sojourn Port travel bass in two ways. When you play acoustically you will notice the massive benefit of the small port that we added to the side of the bass. This is positioned to point directly at the player, acting like a personal monitor. When you want to play in louder situations you can utilize the integrated Fishman electronics system. We selected the Fishman Presys II, which includes onboard bass and treble controls to allow you to dial-in your tone. The included tuner keeps you right on the mark.
Take it to the beach or campsite! Or use for live or recording applications where you want a focused and unique tone. The Sojourn Port Travel Bass is a bass you will want in your collection. Get your Sojourn and its included gig bag and hit the road!
PORT TECHNOLOGY
Acoustic guitar design has not changed significantly since the pre-World War II era. For several years now, the Michael Kelly team has been working on a fresh new approach to acoustic guitars. This has culminated with the development of the new Port Technology. At the core of this innovation is an offset soundhole approach coupled with an all new bracing design. Traditional soundhole placement interrupts a potentially potent “soundboard” area located between the neck and the bridge. By relocating the soundhole, Michael Kelly was able to bring this area to life, providing a louder and more resonate overall top performance. This performance enhancement is especially evident on models with integrated electronics where the added resonance collaborates with the bridge mounted piezo for undeniably better results.
