The SM4U features an array of connections for both wired and wireless audio sources. Plug-in a wired microphone to the XLR-1/4" combo jack, or go hands-free by connecting a Samson XPD Digital Wireless* system to the front panel USB jack. The Music channel includes stereo RCA inputs on the rear panel, as well as front-mounted stereo 1/4" and 1/8" inputs. Lastly, stream audio wirelessly via Bluetooth.
Voice Priority:
The mixer includes a high-quality, bidirectional USB-C jack for interfacing with computers as well as tablets and smartphones that have USB-C ports. This allows you to record a mix, fly-in audio tracks for a presentation, or use the SM4U as a video conferencing mixer.
The Voiceover control offers priority ducking of up to 30dB while talking through a mic or using the XPD Wireless input. The Voiceover Hold knob lets you adjusts the active ducking hold time from 0.5 to 3 seconds. Whether you’re leading a group ex-class or making announcements, intelligibility is key.
Installed Sound:
The compact SM4U takes up just half of a 1U rackspace and can be installed using the included rackmount kit. It can be mounted adjacent to most Samson Concert 88/288 and Concert 99 series wireless half-rack receivers. The mixer includes stereo XLR and RCA outputs that can be configured for either mono or stereo operation. A rear-mounted Master Volume allows the overall output level of the mixer to be preset for the room or application without the worry of accidental changes.
