Spatial Dispersion™ loudspeaker technology
The L1 Compact features six small drivers mounted at precise angles inside a slim, vertical enclosure. This proprietary Bose technology delivers nearly 180 degrees of horizontal sound coverage. Sound remains consistent even at extreme sides of the system.
Integrated mixer
Built right into the power stand, the integrated mixer provides one microphone XLR input on channel 1; channel 2 has one instrument input, one RCA stereo input and one 1/8 inch stereo input. Both channels have two-stage clip lights, volume controls and a customized ToneMatch preset. Rear panel has one 1/4 inch balanced line output and one RCA stereo output.
Integrated power amplifier
Loaded into the power stand, the integrated power amplifier delivers clean, precise amplification for L1 Compact loudspeaker and bass enclosure.
Compact and Portable
PA and monitors are combined into one lightweight, highly portable system. Proprietary Bose technology enables the system to be positioned directly behind or to the side of a performer, eliminating the need for separate PA speakers, stage monitors and mixers.
Proprietary ToneMatch presets
The ToneMatch Presets optimize the L1 Compact system for a dynamic handheld microphone (channel 1) or acoustic guitar (channel 2).
Two unique setup positions
You can set up the L1 in a way best suited to your venue; extended (78.5 inch height) or collapsed (16.5 inch height). The L1 Compact allows you to tailor the system's sound coverage for the room or event. For larger audiences, use the included loudspeaker extensions to elevate the array. For smaller gatherings and meetings, leave the array in its slot on the power stand and place the system on a tabletop.
Durable, lightweight, interlocking components
Bose' L1 Compact system is very easy to transport, set up and break down. The power stand weighs just 25 pounds, and the total system with loudspeaker and extensions weighs 29 pounds. No speaker cables, stands or bass modules required. The entire system can be set up in a minute or less.

| ONe of my complaint's. All though the plastic construction also makes it light so....???? | | Features:
| Pretty basic. I wish they had a setting for full range. I do a solo "One man band " and it would be nice to have.
I found it to be a bit fizzy sounding originally.
So, I did some experimenting to try to get a sound close to my L1 system(the original one). If you add(It'll sound strange)a Earthworks kick pad in the chain(balanced) and set the channel to guitar it's sound great! A lot more bass and less of the "fizz"
So, much closer to the L1. I also rolled off some of the high's on each channel.
Of course your millage will vary with different gear.
I am using a small mixer(Alesis) I mount to my mic stand.

| I heard a guy singing outdoors and accompanying himself on guitar at the Seattle Center using the Bose L1 as his only amplification and was really knocked out by the sound quality. I don't know if Bose intended musicians to use this outside, but the spatial dispersion allowed his sound to float all around me so it did not appear to be pinpointed at the actual speaker array. A magical musical moment! I would buy this system and the owner of a local musical instrument store agreed that it provides sonic perfection. | | Ease of Use:

| eliminates need for speaker cables, stands, etc. Not a back breaker. I am 53 years old and this is the perfect "old fogie" system. I plan to entertain well into my sixties, as long as my health holds out, and this system will minimize wear and tear on the old body :) | | Sound:
| I recently played a gig in a fire department "barn" with very poor acoustics. There were 200 people present throughout the event, as well as kids games, small carnival rides, etc. The ambient noise level was quite high. The Bose L1 penetrated that room with consistent high quality sound at a pleasing level...I was very impressed. I plan to buy a second L1 Compact soon! | | Value:
