The Ibanez MTM1 Mick Tompson model is a guitar made for heavy rock and metal.
Tone, features and playability make the MTM1 as awe-inspiring (and dangerous looking) an instrument as the artist who designed it. The MTM1 features Mick Thomson's choice of U.S.A.-made original EMG pickups. Its 5-piece thru-neck and mahogany body pump out full, fat tone with strong sustain. Todeliver its brutal tone, the MTM1 is equipped with heavier gauge strings than standard RG's. Features include an Edge FX double-locking fixed-bridge and tuning to Mick's preference of C#, with a dropped B: B, F#, B, E, G#, C# (low to high).
The combination of mahogany, maple and rosewood with a massive fixed-bridge and EMG pickups make this guitar sound absolutely huge.
