    Product Description

Zach Myers, lead guitarist of the multi-platinum rock band Shinedown, picked up a PRS Custom 22 at the age of fifteen and announced his first SE signature model in 2010. As a guitarist who has rocked PRS on the stage and teched for several PRS bands, Myers has an intimate understanding of how a guitar should feel and what the build quality should be. After months of design and conversations with PRS’s SE team, Zach and PRS are pleased to introduce an all-new SE Zach Myers.

The 2014 SE Zach Myers features a chambered mahogany body with maple cap, flame maple veneer and single f-hole that provides smooth mid-range tones with a natural, resonant internal reverb. The 22-fret 24.5” scale length wide fat neck boasts a satin finish that gives the guitar a very comfortable, woody, worn-in feel. Additional appointments to the SE Zach Myers signature model include PRS adjustable stoptail bridge, vintage style tuners, and PRS SE 245 pickups paired with two volume and two tone controls and a 3-way toggle pickup switch.

Tone Monster and Fun to Play
    Product Rating
What is your opinion of this product?
Immediately I was reminded of a Gretsch even though this guitar is even a touch shorter scale. Thicker strings bend like 9's while giving a warm full tone. Very light so there is little shoulder strain. PRS does not shape the nuts comfortably and the sharp edge is an annoyance. This guitar came to me with proper neck relief and the strings laying at 3/64ths at the 15th with no buzz. Even the pickup height seemed to be tonally balance. Not only good job AMS but to PRS, not every import instrument (or domestic) has frets good enough to lay the strings that close. I ordered a scratch and dent but If this had been from another store I doubt they would have even made the distinction. I struggled to find a few blemishes that a quick buff could easily work out. I'm pleased with the alnico pickups, very classic rock friendly and they record surprisingly well. It also stays in tune as good as my AmVint Tele. My only wish is for stronger frets and better nut material.

    Great Guitar for money
What is your opinion of this product?
This guitar was worth the wait. I have played since mid 60's. I was looking for small semi hollow body with Humbuck's. Liked looks/price of Gib 339 copy. Was actually talked into 1st run of PRS Zach Meyer guitar. Had fat neck and one color+ no humbuck pups. But put down payment on PRS mainly due to C.Santana model and salesman. Looked great as well. Guitar came after about 6 weeks ready to play straight from box. The Wide PRS neck felt fast, easy, and in perfect tune over full neck length on all strings. I lowered strings some and reset the string length at bridge. Only very small issue for some owners is this guitar likes 10-42 strings or heavier. The sound is beautiful and full. PRS 245 pickups have great tone and wide range. Do feedback just a bit more than Humbuck's. That may be from semi hollow body design.I would have personally liked few more colors. Details, fit, and finish are near perfect and more expected in guitar in $1,500 range new. Would never suggest anyone buy new guitar without playing it first. I was very lucky and feel is best small semi hollow body guitar for the money.

    Utterly amazing!
What is your opinion of this product?
I have played guitar for 45 years very poorly. I own Gibson, Fender, Ibanez and other PRS SE's. This guitar is nothing short of amazing. Doesn't sound like a Gibby or a Fender. It has a unique sound in which I wanted. But wow! This axe looks & plays like a guitar worth several thousand dollars. Can't say that enough. In fact, I have never written a review until this guitar came along. Yes! That inspiring.

    LOVING IT!!!
What is your opinion of this product?
Beautifully built, plays wonderful! I was a bit anxious since it is a wide fat neck, and my fingers are not that big, but NO PROBLEMS at ALL! For it's price, I really believe you are getting an upscale product. Be careful, since it's weight is so 'non-existent', that I almost didn't believe it was a real guitar lol. Definitely recommend this to ANY level guitar player.

Really great guitar, esp. for this price
What is your opinion of this product?
This is my 2nd PRS SE model, and I'm as pleased w/ this as I am w/ my SE Custom 24. The neck carve is a bit beefier, but still feels good, as does the satin finish on the back. It balances really well, especially playing sitting down. It sounds good both acoustically & plugged in. The frets are a bit rough, but the ends are smooth. The pickups sound good, & the tuners seem fairly stable. Definitely my new favorite.

    Great Axe for the money
What is your opinion of this product?
This guitar is truly amazing. The Zach Meyers is my first PRS guitar. I was always skeptical about leaving Fender and Gibson but now I can see what eveyone loves about this guitar. It has punch, can be mellow and is very comfortable to play. The neck is slightly chunkier than my Fender and Gibson guitars but in a good way. It's comfortable and makes getting around it easy. The tones are wonderful. You can make the guitar scream or cry softly. If you want a great guitar at a great price look no further. The fit and finish are perfect and I used it for a gig right out of the box no adjustments necessary. It held up on the gig just fine. This is about as good as it gets and I own over 40 guitars to choose from. This is definitely going to be one of my favorites. Get one you won't be sorry.

    Believe The Hype
What is your opinion of this product?
The SE Zach Myers guitar is one of those products that garnered a great deal of hype when it was first released. It got great reviews right out of the gate and pretty much instantly hit back order status. Could it really be that good though? Well, I don't know what they put in the water over at WMI where PRS has all of the SE line made, but it is paying off so well. I've never had the pleasure of playing a core series PRS, but I have played plenty of Gibson guitars and I can definitely say I would much rather have this guitar. The fit and finish are really nice, the hardware is all solid and the setup is darn near perfect right out of the box. It is much lighter than I expected it to be, but it doesn't lose any depth of sound because of it. Speaking of sound, if you want that classic Les Paul sound, this will get you there. The stand out feature to me, other than the crazy cool looking flame veneer top in trampas green, is the neck. They tout it as being satin finish and it is supposed to feel like it is raw. In reality it feels like silk. It is so smooth it almost feels weird, but in a good way. At the end of the day, the SE line from PRS, and this guitar in particular, are a game changer. Fender and Gibson with their Squier and Epiphone lines respectively, have made some big strides in the last five or so years, but PRS has come along and just raised the bar for guitars made in the Far East. And if you really want to know how good this guitar is, just remember, Zach Myers plays an off the shelf model at his shows. No mods, no major changes. That speaks volumes.

    Still waiting.
What is your opinion of this product?
I ordered this guitar at the beginning of May. The expected ship date was 5/24/14. I still haven't gotten the guitar and no one can give me a straight answer as to when I will be getting it. It's 7/20/14 and I'm still waiting. I've been told on 2 separate occasions that it was shipping in 2 weeks. It didn't happen. I realize they have no control as to when they receive the order from PRS but as a gigging musician it's incredibly frustrating.
