I must say the fact that the head is not that heavy. I also have to say that the equalizer was another great tool. I would like to see ampeg get a head that you can save your presets. Sound How is the tone? The tone is wonderful. I believe that it brought the best out all of my bass. It gave me the punch I needed as well as the smoothness I needed when playing jazz. Groovy!!! Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? I've only own it for 1.5 months but it has gotten alot of use,so far so good very sturdy built. The best feature to me is the abililty to add a blend of tube and solid state sound depending on what I'm playing via the TUBE GAIN knob. Sound How is the tone? I use a tech 21 rackmount preamp, so I am able to dial whatever sound I want. I slap and pop alot and my head has the function to turnoff my EQ and with my tube gain at about 1 or2 O'clock is just right. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth?
