I cannot say enough good things about this item!
Quality:
Wow! I think it's sturdy, lightweight and looks durable. The covers for the columns and the amp should keep it looking new for years. it is high impact plastic like most of the high end speaker cabs they make these days. It's Bose!
Features:
This real feature to the Bose L1 is the SOUND! It makes you sound very natural and the 180 degree speaker projection means you have even sound anywhere in the room. The simplicity of the design makes it a pleasure to use. It has a direct line out for large venues so can take your sound with you anywhere. It will easily fit in the back of your Mini Cooper, even if you guitar doesn't! It only weighs 29 pounds assembled. It's one trip to carry you amp/PA into the gig! Leave your monitor speaker at home you won't need it. Use the line out to an external system for large venues with ease.
Ease of Use:
This unit could not be easier to use! I got it and set it up in less than 5 minutes. This is intended for use by acoustic solo guitarists/singers. It is very playable.
Sound:
The sound is AMAZING! It sounds better than any acoustic guitar/vocal amp combo I have ever owned or tried, and I have owned many over the last few years. The acoustic guitar setting optimizes your guitar and allows you to get a nice balance of lows and highs that I have never heard before. Also the sound is multi-dimensional, it sounds the same anywhere in front of the sound field. You can leave you monitor speakers home too.
Value:
I cannot say enough positive things about this new approach to live sound for solo performers and even small acoustic groups with an external mixer for the mics. Yes, it seems expensive compared to most AC guitar amp/pa combos but the sound blows the others away.

BOSE ROCKS!!!!! This system is amazing!!!
Quality:
Bose makes great stuff and I have no doubt that it'll withstand my heavy gigging as a solo act. You get what you pay for...
Features:
The best feature is the sound quality verses portability. I was a little weary at first getting the compact with only 7 speakers total.......But when I set up and started jamming....WOW!!!
Ease of Use:
Set-up is literally a couple of minutes and its ready to amaze your audience!! It takes longer to strap on your guitar, plug it in, and tune!!
Value:
Like I said.......you get what you pay for. the venues I play totally love it and with the extra shows being booked now because of it, pays for itself ten fold!!

It's Bose! What else can you say.
Quality:
I have used the unit for approximately 6 months and have had not issues. The L1 Compact has proven to be a very reliable piece of equipment. I inititally had some concerns about the plastic composite construction, but is more than adequate for day to day use.
Features:
The unit could not be simpler to use. Perfect for the singer/songwriter looking for an easy, dependable, great sounding system. The addition of phantom power would be a big plus. The addition of a small external mixer with effects resolves the issue. All in all a great piece of equipment for wineries, coffee houses and small clubs.
Ease of Use:
Simple plug and play. Carry in, setup, ready for soundcheck. And all in less than 5 minutes.
Sound:
Amazing Bose sound. Enough said.
Value:
A bit pricey compared to other units, but the sound is worth every penny. A bit more equalization, phantom power, add a bit of reverb, and the L1 Compact would be hard to beat.

The Compact Bose could possibly use more Low End. It would give the sound more bass during performance.
Ease of Use:
Very simple to use. The Compact model is ideal for smaller venues. Quick set up and break down.
Sound:
Could use more low end.
Value:
Bose is expensive but well worth the cost.

It's made very well, but towers need to be locked or something because I've noticed when musicians rock/Dance/Stomp their feet and the the towers really wobble on certain stages, So with long term use I'm afraid that they might become a little loose
Features:
Very easy setup and great sound
Ease of Use:
It's very helpful and easy to set up, you don't need the manual
Sound:
They Sound fantastic, they need just a little more bass but over all they're great
Value:
Somewhat I wish it was a little less expensive so more musicians can own them

Jim G from Huntsville, AL
Quality:
It weighs 29 lbs, so there is a lot of plastic going on, but it feels very solid. It has a nice cover that comes with it. All the knobs and switches are solid and well-appointed. I would rate the quality as high, the engineering as first-rate. Other musicians gather around it and say "Wow, nice!" even before they hear it. When they do hear it, they can't believe the sound. My B-3 emulation sounded good before, but it came alive playing through the Bose L1c.
Features:
The Bose L1c is designed to be a very simple, quick setup and it is that for sure. I use it in the Collapsed mode for my guitar lessons, as a keyboard amp for gigs, etc.
When I use a pair of them as a PA, I run either a small mixer or a VoiceLive2 into it. You need to DRIVE this little guy on the input side, IMHO. Bose states that the L1c is basically turned up all the way all the time already, so the headroom is already there. If you're not putting a good strong signal into it, you're not going to fully use what it has to give. It can get very loud; loud enough for most playing situations.
These units are very stealthy if you play a lot of restaurants, wedding gigs, etc. They fade into the background very nicely, unlike large boxes on sticks. Only 29 lbs each and no more hoisting cabs up on stands!
I bought a 18 amp-hour battery pack at Sears and it will power one L1c full-blast for FIVE hours! What could you do with that?
Ease of Use:
It's like "PA for Dummies". Plug and play. No, there are no onboard effects, but onboard effects usually bite anyway. If you're a singer who sings with tracks, or with a band or ensemble, it's a no-brainer.
Sound:
If you're really not that great a singer and you know it (I'm serious), then keep using the other stuff. The Bose L1c has such clarity that it will feel like you're under a microscope. But, if you're a truly talented singer who needs to be heard, you definitely need one of these. Or, better yet, two! And, NO, I do not work for Bose.
Value:
$999 each is not chump change and I bought TWO of 'em. But, the sound is simply the best: clear, clean, and effects like delay and reverb sound wonderful through it. If you're a singer who is looking for the ultimate personal PA for gigs, this is it. Sure, it's not cheap, but aren't you tired of hearing your voice through a cheap PA?

Features:
Great sound, very portable, fast setup.
Ease of Use:
There is no learning curve on this setup. You set it up, plug in, tweak it a bit and go "wow."
Sound:
Overall great. I do wish there was some tone control on the instrument/line input, like there is on the microphone input.
Value:
Bose is pricey, but I feel I really got what I paid for.

Great Light Weight Speaker System
Quality:
Bose represents quality and dependablility. I fully expect my L1 Compact to live up to that for many years.
Features:
The best feature for me is accurate sound in a compact package. Less hassle, cables and trips from the car to the stage. this replaced two mains and two monitors for most of my gigs. I'm in and out with a simpler setup. Exactly what I was looking for.
Ease of Use:
For anyone who has set up a PA, this will seem easier than ever. One power cord, one cable from the mixer and tuen it on. It'll seem like you forgot something, but it's just that easy.
Sound:
Very clear and dispersion is superior to the powered speakers I replaced with this unit.
Value:
Like everything Bose, the price is the part to get by. Quality is an earned reputation with Bose, but you do have to pay the price. In this compact form, the price is a reasonable for high quality.

The best portable PA- end of the story.
Quality:
Build to BOSE standards and familiar controls for the musician.
Features:
The size is so small that I'm using my daughter's Nissan Sentra- not my full size SUV, when going to a Gig around the state.
Ease of Use:
Can be set-up in less than a minute. When ready to go home- equally easy and people are always impresed with the power, clarity, and distortion/feedback free sound.
Sound:
Amaizing! Their is no need to equalize or do anithing to the unit- is made for demamnding working musicians.
Value:
The investment is significant, however, the savings can be apreciated by (1)no need of a monitor, (2) no visible cables to and from PA, and (3) Time to set-up cut by 95%.

L1 Compact exceeded my expectations..
Quality:
It is Bose..what do you expect?
Features:
size, ease of set-up
Ease of Use:
eliminates need for speaker cables, stands, etc. Not a back breaker. I am 53 years old and this is the perfect "old fogie" system. I plan to entertain well into my sixties, as long as my health holds out, and this system will minimize wear and tear on the old body :)
Sound:
I recently played a gig in a fire department "barn" with very poor acoustics. There were 200 people present throughout the event, as well as kids games, small carnival rides, etc. The ambient noise level was quite high. The Bose L1 penetrated that room with consistent high quality sound at a pleasing level...I was very impressed. I plan to buy a second L1 Compact soon!
Value:
excellent value because it replaces an array of sound reinforcement equipment
