This is awesome singing pedal. I checked demo video before buying but when singing through it this was better than expected. It has awesome reverb and tone correction. There are so many features I will most likely never use that I am still experimenting with but am very happy with how this improves my voice. It has echo and looping and much more. Great investment!

I bought this to try and fill out my vocals on stage. So far its been a great buy. The reverb and delay are tasteful and you can go overboard with them, but you can also reign them in when needed. The pitch correction is helpful as well and sounds pretty natural on the soft setting. The doubling/harmony features really help to add a bit more oomph to my vocals.

I sing lead in a Rock cover band and it’s great to have this kind of control for live music. Very easy to use after a few YouTube videos and switch between different fx with the tap of your foot. I don’t care for the harmonies because it doesn’t auto detect the key other than that the reverb, radio fx, and flanger fx are awesome and add a lot to songs that use similar fx. A lot of cool functions and I’ve barely scratched the surface if it’s capabilities!

So I’ve used my VE-1 for a handful of years and although basic, it worked well on stage. So why buy the VE-20? More sounds and the ability to create custom patches. There’s a bit of menu diving, but it’s not terrible. A couple vids on YouTube later and I had a couple patches dialed in. I’d recommend it to anybody that wants control of their vocal effects and not be at the mercy of the sound tech. For studio, you may have access to countless plugins, but on stage this is fantastic. Being able to choose and layer your own sounds is ideal. I really just needed the radio sound for one chorus of one song, and fortunately, I found the use of it voided my need for the VE-1. Thanks American Musical for 8 easy payments. Cheers!

Much research went into this purchase. I've owned many vocal processors. Some were very difficult to use. This Boss VE-20 was intuitive right out of the box. Never cracked the manual and I was able to modify any and all parameters in the presets, then save the preset as a custom vocal patch. Having the two pedals with indicator lights right next to the pedal was a great design. Being able to change the 'key' for the harmonies is a feature which my previous 'vocalizer' didn't have. I can even select if it's a major or minor key! I'm very impressed with this pedal and I'm happy I decided to buy this model.

It’s okay. Sounds decent, but it’s too difficult to make adjustments on the fly. I managed to dial in one good sound and just left it there mostly. I was looking for reverb and delay in one simple unit, but this is not it; unless you like trying to navigate through menus a lot.

This FX pedal gives me exactly what I needed for all my horrendous, guttural screaming when the band I am in plays. Just a touch of distortion (literally set it to 5%) and some delay. And you can program the 2nd footswitch to turn the delay (or whatever other FX you assign to it) on/off as needed, which is PRECISELY what I was looking for. Has lots of other cool features/FX and is very straightforward and easy to use/navigate as far as digging into any of them further goes. Playing around with the loop feature and pretending you are Reggie Watts or something is pretty amusing too.
This pedal does not and will not disappoint. And it does not feel dinky, like it's about to fall apart at any moment. Sturdy, heavy and can probably take a beating.
Would normally be just slightly out of my $$$ range, but AMS's 12 pay plan makes it completely possible. For that, they rule.
A++ Highly recommend, across the board.

This is a great live unit. Gave it 4 stars as not quite clean enough for high-end recording.
Also I'm not using this for vocals - I use it as a processor for flute to add reverb, echo, compression, etc.
This unit works great for any instrument that plays into a mic like woodwinds, brass, symphonic instruments, etc. It gives you the ability to cater your own sound and unlike most instrument FX units, it takes a standard XLR mic input instead of the usual TRS/TS connections like on guitar FX units.
Very flexible and portable for working musicians.

Works as it should. The sound was good and could get a warm sound from the unit. The sevice was great got it earlier than they said with no issues. The thing is built like a tank, like all boss products. Will be using it live and I will get back to all on the live performance of the unit.

Wow, now I can do all those great harmony songs from the past, the 4 Tops the Temps, you name it, I can do it. Boy what a beautiful sound. Abba, yeah I can do that too with just a one man band. If you’re a single act you’ve got to have one of these. If your in a small band with just one lead singer this will improve your repertoire and sound so much. THE boss VE20 with all of its outstanding high-end technology is very user-friendly, this voice enhancer machine was made for pros and beginners, the ve-20 is a very sturdy piece of equipment, It really have surpassed its competitors ,especially when it comes down to price .I have used this twice on shows, one with my band and one alone and I tell you it is absolutely remarkable you will not be taking a risk buying the ve-20.

Very easy to use out of the box, programming was easy after reading the directions. Sound fidelity is great. If I had one complaint about design it would be that a foot switch to scroll through the presets would have been a good thing to implement.

This thing is built like a tank. The TC Helicon model I had quit during the second use and was much too fragile for road use. Not so with this BOSS unit.
Great effects and Voices. A word of advice: Read The Manual! If you don't you are going to struggle with it. Once you get the hang of this box programming and changes are easy even on the fly.

The VE 20 is a workhorse...guitarists and keyboardists know of the Boss pedal quality and dependability and now this drummer/vocalist does too.
I love the Boss "stomp" pedals...my keyboard player let me try his "button-click" unit, but as a drummer it was hard to accurately click with my foot and a lot of times it did not respond properly but the Boss pedal switches over every time with no miscues. I have it right next to my hi-hat pedal.
This is one of those "so easy to use" products that you hardly even have to open the manual. It is amazingly easy to use right out of the box.
The sound on the VE 20 is crisp and sharp. No noticable difference in clarity going through the unit than when I went directly into the live mixing board.
I have only had the unit for about a month, but I have no doubt it will be performing exactly as it does now for years to come.

Overall, this was a very wise investment for me and one which I am so happy I chose over others that were available. It has given me exactly the features that I wanted, and some I have discovered and worked into other live performances.

I have only had the pedal for about a month but so far it has been amazing for band practice.
features are amazing. I like how you can edit factory presets and then save them on empty slots. I just have to get used to the quick switching set up. being a guitarist i have to get used to switching vocal fx just as i would an overdrive pedal.
The VE-20 was really easy to use right out of the box. just plug and play.
The tone this pedal puts out is amazing i didn't have to adjust my P.A. at all.
so far the product is very reliable.

Over all i am glad i decided to make this purchase. being a guitarist and having my pedal board for those fx i just added the boss to the board with the rest of my fx pedals and was good to go.

i'd have to say the quality is superior! i've carted this monster all over for gigs and haven't even sratched the paint!
every feature on this little wonder is amazing i can't pick one. the chorussounds so good. the harmonies are crazy, radio, strobe, double voice, triple voice, all the programs work so well it's hard to figure out what you want to use!
plug in you mic run a cable to your board your done! easy!
programs are seemless and fluid. the sounds are full and amazing. and there are a lot of recordable slots to customize a sound just for you.
i've owned the VE-20 for 3 or 4 months now and have used it on numerous gigs, and it has never let me down!

over all it is definatly 5 out of 5! metal constructed body, programs that work very well, a system that is easy to use, you could never go wrong buying this little beast!

seriously cant think of anything to add, effects have got to be fav and ease of settings change esp. mic sensitivity and reverb w/ built in delay and phrase looper ITS GOT IT ALL, PRICED JUST RIGHT TOO.
right out of box was so excited went to P.A. w/o reading anything was easy to set main areas of sound like mic sensitivity,reverb,and the effect i wanted and harmony or key like b flat ext. all axe pedals of 12 but one is boss and owned three vocalists by digitech and tc helicon performer this boss ve-20 let me put all others up for sale was jus bout to buy digitech vocalist 5 but display was up for the boss that day went to car got on laptop read reviews went back in to buy two days later it was at store and lus now reading/learning all u can do so easy but makes more dramatic diff. than all i,ve owned have low pitched bass voice this allows me to live sing high pitch songs like ALL OF MY LOVE by zepplin and i never thought my voive could do that w/o allot of comp. editing, the boss is the best vocal processor/effect pedal ive seen r heard and like i said owned alot that cost much more!
