Great guitar-----amazing quality

What is your overall opinion of this product?
I've had at least one of everything out there is 35 years of playing and I've never bought a guitar sight unseen until now.
My live performing days are over as a result of serious health problems, so I decided to commit myself to learning jazz guitar.
That being said, a costly divorce forced me to part with every guitar I owned (except for my Lowden acoustic). So, I was starting over from scratch.
I checked out a couple of reviews on youtube and although there wasn't a real jazz player reviewing it (seemed to be more music store owners of some type, only playing a few chords). They all agreed that for the money, it was a nice archtop. I ordered one.
What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music?
It showed up in a brand new unscuffed case and was wrapped in foam. I was happy that no one but me had seen this guitar until it shipped to me. It wasn't a damaged or used return.
To say the least it was stunningly beautiful. Amazing burst with flawless hardware.
Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
I had never played an archtop in my life. I was a solid body electric and flat top acoustic player.
The rounded, wide fingerboard neck fit perfectly in my hand. It arrived in tune and the intonation was dead on. The body was fit me perfectly.
How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin?
The tone was very bright when I first played it. I went and got a set of .011 flat wounds and the tone was perfect for what I was going to use it for. Chord/melody standards.
I plugged it into my Mesa Express 5:50 with closed back extension cab and the tone was vintage jazz.
I haven't plugged it back in since. I love doing all of my practicing acoustically. It's very dynamic. The soft mellow tones are there and the cutting mids are there when you get more aggressive.
How did the stain or paint job look?
Not a mark on it. No orange peel. Deep gloss/shine. No clear coat build up anywhere. No scuffs. Plating on the hardware was clean.
Beautiful guitar all around.
Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range?
I would have NEVER guessed that it was this nice for the price. I'm actually on this site today to buy the blonde version, but they're either sold out or not offering it anymore. If something happened to mine I would immediately replace it with the same thing. It's really that good. My teacher has a "69 L5 that he bought brand new in '69 and although it's not as seasoned and played as much as his was/is, he was blown away at the guality. I would have expected this guitar to be in the low $2K range for everything that it offers me. Best buy I've made in 20 years on a new guitar.
How was the action out of the box?
Perfect for me. No adjustments needed. No buzz, no dead spots. Tuned up. Intonation dead nuts perfect. I have a friend that as soon as he buys a guitar it goes right to a tech for setup.
This guitar needed nothing.
