As with any pickup of this nature, the sound source and the amplification method will determine the quality of tone. However, it is nicely balanced and easy to adjust.
Reliability:
This only the second one I've ever to purchase in 20 plus years of playing.

Great for the price.

Again, it really depends on the guitar and amplification.
