Buttery smooth yet clean and not muddy. I am using the 24v mod and makes it even better.

Very thick, very 85...but....it's also got that nice rich sound the x series is good for. It's just so nice to hear from an active pickup. And they turn down so well!

I just installed the 85 after a year of having just the 81, but considering that the 81 gave me no problems i expect the 85 to hold up.1
Your general opinion of this product.
The emg x 81&85 pickups are sweet!!!! I have played Zakk Wylde emgs and in my opinion, the X Factor wins!!!!!
the 85 is sky high!
