I own a lot of simliar guitars like this. Dean, Jackson, Schecter, you name it. Out of all of them, this is the best axe that I have ever owned and played! Japanese luthier sure do know how to make a great guitar. Seymore Duncan pups are versatile and you can pretty much make any desired tone out of it from jazz to heavy metal. Thin U shape neck and ebony fretboard feels really smooth and this guitar plays like a butter. Flamed maple top is gorgeous and overall craftsmanship is fascinating. It is my first time using a locking tuner tho so it will take me some time to get used to it. Out of the box, I had to adjust some action a little bit tho. Action was too low so there was a fret buzz and guitar sounded a bit muddy bit its an easy fix tho. I am seriously thinking of getting another ESP with EMG pickups. I bet they are great as well. This was a great buy!

Product Review
My first ESP guitar. I know there is some commotion involved due to the ES-ii labeling. This guitar is top notch however.
Solid guitar. Plays fast and feels solid. Great finish and fretwork is well done.
Neck was thinner than I anticipated (not a bad thing). One of my main hangups on guitars is that I am very particular about guitar necks. This wasn't too wide or too thick. Strings felt spaced comfortably apart.
This is my first run in with the Seymour Duncan Custom-5 (bridge pickup). I haven't had a chance to run it through it's paces very much...but so far it's held up fairly well. I play a variety of genres and it cleans up nicely but still can provide a decent crunch if needed.
The finish was flawless. I was slightly concerned that the Reindeer Blue (more like purple) was going to be too bright. Pictures don't do this justice. It's a very dark outer piece that fades in to the purple-ish coloring. Very tasteful and different.
It's hard for me to gauge at this point. I've had several other mid-high end guitars. This is my first ESP. You can debate the ES-ii namesake all you want. I can tell you that the quality is very nice. I haven't found a flaw to complain about. A keeper for me.
Fast action. Required no adjustment on my part. Surprisingly close to being in tune.
