General What is your overall opinion of this product? For the price, it's not a bad guitar but, seeing that the stock top loader bridge makes restringing difficult, I replaced it with a Vintage style that has the 3 Brass Tele Saddles. Now it's much easier to restring and also has more sustain as well. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? Squier has really upped their game with the intro of these new Affinity models. I have the Sunburst one and it's very well built. Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? The stock neck has no fret edges sticking out at all and the stock tuners do a great job of maintaining tuning stability. This neck is a joy to play. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? The stock pickups sound great but I did replace the stock capacitors with some Orange drops that have definitely improved the sound of the guitar. Now it's a true tone monster. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? I'm a sucker for a Sunburst Finish that is done well and Squier has done a great job with this one. Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? This is right up there with IMO, any MIM Fender Telecaster once I added my mods to it. It's definitely a keeper and sounds awesome. Playability How was the action out of the box? Definitely needed a setup and a bridge replacement because of the crappy stock bridge saddles. Why can't Squier either make these string thru or use the 3 barrel Tele saddles on these ? That would make restringing much easier and add more tone and sustain IMO.
A great little guitar for the price

General What is your overall opinion of this product? I got it as a test to see how I would like the feel of a Telecaster. And I was quite surprised, it feels great, has excellent tone. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? Well it's not a real Fender Telecaster but it sounds good, has great tone and plays remarkably well. It would be an excellent starter guitar. Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Feels great, has a really mellow tone but can get dirty with the the gain cranked. I like it. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? It has a great tone, I was going to change out the Lead pick up but actually it sounds pretty good the way it is. The rhythm pick up is a bit tame but I suspect that is true with all Telies. May change that out for a Seymour Duncan pick up. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The finish on it it is flawless as is all the gear I've gotten from AMS. Not a scratch. Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? Well for the price I consider it to be a great bargain, really all I had to do was put a good set of strings on it, adjust the intonation a little and she was good to go. Playability How was the action out of the box? Out of the box it was pretty good, tuned her up and she sounded sweet but I did change the strings afterward for a better feel. The intonation was a little off but not bad. But I found most of the gear I get needs a little TLC after shipping.
