Ease of Use

General What is your overall opinion of this product? Good for fooling around, turning it on once a week, showing off to buddies how easy it is to make music, etc... Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? The sounds are weak, there's no way getting around it. After a few days I thought, OK, maybe for someone who plays only acoustic stuff, unplugged, country and Bossa Nova, but no, it just doesn't work for professional purposes, period. The price is not an absolut clear indication of it, because think about Yamaha MOX, and now MOXF, for example! Ease of Use How user friendly is it? Would it work well for a beginner, intermediate or experienced player? It is easy to use, too learning curve, no deep synth engine, and there are no real time controllers for it, anyway... I am sorry, I did expect it from KORG! Features Are the features on the product what you were expecting? What are your favorite features? Yes. Here is the scope: Everything a modern arranger keyboard should have is here, and then some extras, like a fully featured 16 track MIDI sequencer, 4 effect processors (waaay not enough, 2 of them will be out already for the two send/return type processing for reverb and let's say delay, so you have two more left to insert?!), a brick wall limiter with an EQ on the back end (works surprisingly well, but what it processes IS the problem), and a touch screen interface, that is a nightmare when you want to actually use the otherwise good sequencer. Transport controlling is confusing, and when you do event editing, there is no other way to scroll through the list then trying to hit the tiny "sweet spot" and hold your fingertip in the bottom corner of the screen?! You CAN edit the drum kit in song play mode, which is awesome when you are mixing down, and I'm not even sure if the Kronos can do that! I only remember the Roland G series and the Yamaha Motif XF. Sound How is the sound quality? How does the sound compare to other products you've use? Bad. Weak. Forget it... Feel How is the feel of the keys? Are the controls laid out well? Yes, the controls are laid out well, keys are OK. Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? I think the overall value is still good, I'm just very disappointed, expected way better. It is going back to AMS. I can't wait for them to have the MOXF in stock!
