Product Rating Product Review Played many guitars before choosing the DRS2. Love the satin finish and the plain appearence. Put 12-54 80/20 strings and it sounds great. Have owned for 2 years and no problems. Came with a good hard case also.

Product Review Its the cheapest way to get into the Martin family with a solid wood guitar, not laminate or HPL. The action was perfect, and since the Plek'd it before shipping I expected that other than maybe a truss rod adjust or something due to shipping and temperature. I didnt have to do either. They ship with a battery already installed for the pickup system, too! I was very pleasantly surprised about the case- usually Martin ships without unless you are getting something like a D18. The case is a Martin branded TKL, also. Very nice. The order arrived on time, and well packed, with no hassles. Thanks!

Product Review This is a fine instrument. Martin did not “cheap out” on it so they could give the free case. I chose it because Martin pioneered the dreadnought body style and x-bracing. This guitar has both.

Product Review At this price, I was expecting a guitar that was just a cheaper made version of a Martin, but I got a guitar that not only sounds great, whether plugged in or not, but plays really well too. Love the satin finish! ready for the road!!!

Product Review Playability is great. It just feels natural in your hands. Only had this guitar about a week and its' voice seems to change daily, (always for the better). Quality seems very good even though it's made south of the boarder. I returned a Fender PM1, a DRS1, and a Taylor A10e. For me, they had insufficient volume while the DRS2 sounded much better. Sound quality is very Subjective so you may feel differently. Also, not a fan of the strings that come with it. Strings change tonal quality dramatically. If you've played for a while, you know what I mean. I'm not an expert as I have been playing about 2 years and have played many guitars at different music stores. This is as good or better than any of them. I suggest you play many different models before you choose. I did, and found this to be what I was looking for within my price range. Good Luck with your choice.

Product Review Well I put this guitar down long enough too give it a review. This guitar has changed my life to the absolute better. Thank you AMS for letting me do 8 payments.I got the 2017 model Drs2, inside says Road Series on the white label instead of just Drs2. It has a hard wood neck solid-not there Statabond neck which I like also. Your first look and feel of this guitar won't give it the justice it deserves. You probably will think the action a little high and its really light in weight and the finish is pretty raw-no gloss here. But once you play it, the sound will tell all...its a born Martin..theres no one that can copy that. I feel as though I been playing out of tune for years on my other guitar.Thats where this guitar has changed my life. The balance of tone and spot on intonation is overwhelming, You will now realize you own a Martin.Just wished they haven't of cut out for a battery box though. Not a big Fishman fan.But this guitars worth ever penny in my book, believe me can't go wrong.

Product Review Martin Road Series Acoustic is very exciting for someone like me who's been around for 20 years I mean playing actively generally guitars that cost less then a thousand are not my cup of tea honestly don't have the appointment or the attention to detail that I really like in a guitar that being said this guitar comes in at just under thousand and I was Lucky enough to purchase a lightly used one at about half that making this the most affordable guitar that I own I use the word affordable because this is anything but a cheap guitar this guitar sounds very good plays very well and is super fun to play but joy to see from across the room a lovely appointed guitar with many features Basic yet blooming with awesome literally have not put this guitar down since it came earlier today I took the time this evening to write this review yet I feel like I should be playing the guitar I could go on and on about how great this guitar is but you really should just go try one for yourself you will not regret it some of the best money I've spent this year should mention that this guitar does not sound like my other Martin guitar it has a unique voice more modern an American very nice addition to any guitar collection as well as just a lovely guitar to play can't wait to bring this out to rehearsal all the boys are going to drool because she's so damn hot this guitar also sounds really good with my normal guitar amp which I usually play a Les Paul through I think this is an awesome thing this guitar actually sounds good through a guitar amp I challenge you to plug in most acoustic electrics into a guitar amp and see what you get or should I say hear what you get fantastic guitar I can't say enough good things about it you should really get yourself one happy picking remember it's all about the experience.

Product Review I had played this model numerous times at different stores and always liked how consistent these guitars are from one to the next. Pulled the trigger and ordered it online from AMS on a Wednesday via regular FedEx ground and received it on Saturday! Took it out of the box, tuned it and have hardly put it down since! I love the tone and projection and the neck/ fingerboard makes this guitar a joy for me to play. For the price this is a great guitar!

Not Very Durable

The sapele used in the manufacturing of this unit is very thin and suseptible to cracking along grain lines. Mine cracked within 6 months. Regardless of the humidity factor, the back wood cracked. It's touted as very durable but it isn't! Your general opinion of this product. I think it has a flimsy back and sides. The stratabond neck is superior and the Fishman Sonitone suits it well. This is a very light guitar; almost like balsa wood. The action is complimented by the neck and the tuners work fairly well. This is the strongest point of the guitar. Its tome is excellent; plugged in or not. It has the unmistakable Martin sound. Satin finish is fine. Action out of the box was very good. No problems.

Martin makes good quality instruments and although this one os made in Mexico, it is of the quality that you would expect from Martin guitars.I was leery of buying a guitar made in Mexico, but I am very please with this Martin guitar. I haven't had this guitar very long, but I have no doubts about be able to play it years from now and it will still sound just as good, maybe better. Your general opinion of this product. I own one! I looked at a lot of guitars before purchasing this one, and this guitar not only sounded great, but was affordable. I needed an acoustic electric that i could play on stage with that wouldn't break the bank and this road series guitar fills that need. I was looking at a DSR1 originally, but the one at the store didn't sound as good as the DRS2. In fact, there was a fellow there playing all of the guitars like I was, and we both kept going back to the DSR2. We both agreed it was the best sounding guitar in the store and I bought it before somebody else could grab it and I have been very pleased with it. The only drawback I can see, which is not a big deal, is that the battery is accessed through the sound hole, but I figure I will replace the battery when I change strings anyway. When making your choice of buying a new guitar, play everything and choose what sounds and feels good to you. I have played expensive guitars that didn't sound good at all. The body does feel a little heavy, but not too bad. The neck is so smooth and makes playing a joy. The controls are easily accessible without getting in the way and are tucked out of sight. Very nice, and as I said, the sustain is superb. The tone is crisp and bright but with highs and lows equally coming through without being muddy. Excellent. I really like the clean look of the satin finish and a pleasant surprise to me is the smell of the wood everytime I take it out of the case. Almost like opening a cedar chest. The action is very good right out of the box. I do alot of flatpicking and this guitar is great for that. It is so easy to play and sounds great.
