Product Rating Product Review While it is easy to drive this amp to distortion, once you learn to use it this is one great portable amp for thinking out loud. I bought it because it runs on batteries. I use it because it is good.

Great Little Amp

Product Review I played through one of these little amps and was impressed by its sound so I had to buy one. For its size the sound is amazing and the extra features are worth every penny. The built in tuner, Delay/Chorus really expand it’s versatility. Add a DI and you can really pull some bottom out of it. Now if you’re expecting to replace that 8X10” bass cabinet, forget it, but if you’re looking for a good little practice amp, this might be the one.

Product Review This little jewel puts out way more than its diminutive size would have you believe. I have used it for my only amp with a square dance band, on stage with multiple guitars, fiddles and banjos-- maybe 8 players, and it carried through the hall, much to the amazement and delight of the other players and dancers. Nothing to dislike about it. It's a small footprint, light weight, and is loaded with features: 6 classic bass amp models, digital effects, a tuner, an input for a microphone, and a drum machine with tap-tempo capability. Most of the time it stays right next to my computer so I can practice along with youtube and internet videos. Highly recommended.

Product Review I bought this for my wife to play thru along with me and my Katana Air and together we make magic! The cube sounds like a turned down full size bass amp. It'pretty loud for home use and the tones are great! The cube has so many tones it will blow your mind! The drum machine is a fun practice tool with tap tempo. Great little stereo bass amp, plugged into a pa it's so good!

Product Review I just started playing bass but have heard and played on friends' amps before and this tiny thing sounds as well as some. Love that it's portable and will run on 6 AA. I bought rechargeable batteries so I'm not buying a million of them.

Product Review If you play slap or with a full range or bright sound, this is an amazing practice amp. It will provide plenty of bedroom level volume, with amazing effects and amp emulations. In the Roland tradition, it is solidly built without a single rattle or vibration. It is all you need to practice bass. However, it is NOT for the deep, no treble player. If this is you, go elsewhere. You simply cannot produce a deep, bass-heavy sound (at any usable volume) with 5 watts, without the kind of high end processing that is used on studio mastered recordings. If you doubt this, try playing your bass through the MP3 input on a portable or bookshelf audio system that you think has killer bass. You'll see my point as soon as you boost the bass. I have owned and loved my Roland Micro Cube Bass RX for many years. But until I realized what I have written above, I had thoughts of sending it back. Now, I will keep it forever.

Tons Of Tools For The Bassist - Should Be A Required Practice Amp

By: Mark L      Submitted: 1/16/2012

Quality seems outstanding! For me the best feature is being able to take this anywhere & plug in my mp3, headphones and bass and practice without making a sound. The effects help to find the right tone with the songs and the built in drum machine is perfect for practicing your scales. You won't believe the sound this thing puts out. Good things come in small packages. Easy to use controls. Don't have to tweak a ton of things to get going. Very easy to use! Create whatever tone you want using EQ, effects and amp modeling. Seems really well built and sturdy but nice and light. Action doesn't apply here but this amp is awsome out of the box

A 'Must Have' practice tool.

This is a very well made product and so far has had rock solid dependability. There are too many to pick just one. If anything it is it's versatility as a practice tool. It has several presets that sound really great. Depends on the presets. This is great for different styles of music.

Awesome little tool. No regrets.

Seems pretty solid all round to me. Plastic around the edges looks like it can withstand a lot of abuse. Knobs out of the way and protected. They're all listed in the description. I'll add that the FX are all surprisingly musical sounding and work well. There seems to always be a bit of compression on, but hitting the button gives some real thump that I love. Beats are good for practice and inspiration. My only problem with the beats is that you can only program speed with a tap tempo, and if you shut the amp it goes back to a defaulted speed. Being battery powered makes it worth so much more to me than any other practice amp. Gives me the ability to take it anywhere and the charge (I use rechargeable batteries) lasts for hours. Only other battery powered amp I know of has nowhere near the options, the charge didn't last as long, was a lot less portable, and the battery died on me after a couple of charges. Lots of options, there's got to be something there to make anyone happy. Seems to favor bass and mids. A tad more highs would be nice but there's enough there for me. Volume is a lot more than you'd expect for the wattage. Enough to carry through two somewhat amplified acoustics at a rehearsal. Not loud enough for a gig without micing it. Drum kit would proably squashi it. Perfect for practice with myself. Your general opinion of this product. No regrets. Like it way more than any practice amp I've owned before it.
