Good pedal for the most part. Top boost can be a little much but is cool once you have it dialed in to your liking.

I am vary pleased with the heavy sounds! That the electro - Harmonix produce! I need to buy some short instrument cables.so I can also add. My pro Co. Other than a little line hum, this metal muff pedal has all the sustain and distortion you will ever need. I have a lot of pedals, and this is becoming my new favorite. Thanks AMS for fast delivery. As always , AMS is the best.

I truly love this pedal, not your typical 80's hair metal sound, but a sharper Mastodon type tone base. Definitely the best version of the Metal Muff, full 3 band EQ, and Top Boost are essential, and very much appreciated. For the price, it's out of this world??

Like I said its very solid and made well. Built like a tank. Electron harmonic makes great pedals.
Very reliable I've owned two of these pedals. I regretted selling my first one and bought another and will never part with it again.
Your general opinion of this product.
This is the ultimate metal stimpbox. Very solid build. Looks awesome.
Very loose distortion. If you have a tube amp you can get a real death metal tube lag thing going. Very awesome sounding.
Tone is very flexable. One way to know if you have a good amp that has headroom is to turn the bass on the metal muff past one o clock. If the amp bottoms out you need a better amp for metal. One mistake people make with this pedal is the top boost.you never want it turned past 9 or 10 o'clock or the pedal sounds shrill.top boost can be used for some rhythems if you turn it to the area around 7 o'clock or 8 this will give you a sweep like effect. You won't need to do it though because the equal without the top boost is very aggressive. There are many pedals out there and this one is the best it gust takes some getting use to. If this pedal doesn't get you the sound you want you need a better amp. If you have a peavey valveking they are not a metal amp. This pedal won't do you any good for the vk. Buy a turbo tubescreamer instead.
Paint job is very metal looking
Action is great very solid unit does metal like it says.works good with other pedal. You have to have a amp with lots of headroom to get the most out of the metal muff.

Tough, rugged and perfect for my band. I can play classic rock or extreme Metal through this pedal. No need for a combo amp. An excellent pedal.

It is made very good it has a solid metal casing and nice smooth quiet and very responsive controls. The input and output jacks are metal and secured to the case so you don't have to worry about them coming out or breaking off. The two switches are high quality they feel nice and solid and have a definite solid click when you step on them. There is no noise through the amp like a pop or click when activated that is a sign of good quality.
I have had it for over 2 months now and everything is going strong. Being it is a well established company I feel it will last a good while plus this thing is solid. I have had no issues at all it does what it is supposed to when it should and does it great.
Your general opinion of this product.
I love this thing I play mostly 80's and some 90's Rock and Metal and it can do it all on my rig. I run it through My Crate V33H tube amp and 412 cab and Schecter Damien special FR with EMG HZ's. the tones I can get are monstrous and powerful and very very versatile.
It's a pedal with a lot of controls so you have to bend down and adjust to taste for whatever you are playing.
The tone you can shape to whatever you want and there is plenty of gain on tap. Lots of chunk for you can get down and dirty.
Nice shiny black and nice straight to the point graphics. Looks nice on my pedal board.
Plug and play it came with a battery in it so it is ready to go.

although ive had the muff for only about a week, I believe the petal to be tough as nails for being as surprisingly as light wieght as it is.I carry the petal back and forth to rehersal in my gig bag with no worries.
again, only a week but I know I wont need another petal for years and years to come.
Your general opinion of this product.
The metal muff is destined to become a legend as the ibanez tube
screamer is.I run through a linesix pod for the effects and clean channel with the muff in front of the signal chain. You wont need another distortion ever.you can get that Dimebag sound
as well as Boogie sounds without paying thousands for a whole new amp. I still cant believe how well the mids and Bass shape
with the turn of a dial!very affordable too.
get this petal you wont be sorry! I love Muff!
The knobs turn smoothly but wont knock out of place during travel
The tone shaping itself is easily customized to what you want to hear.some petals dont change tone much when tweaked but the muff
covers all the freqencies you would want to use.
cosmetically cool

Feels like a tank. All metal construction. Only gripe is you have to unscrew it to change the batteries.
I just got mine a few months ago. We'll see.
Your general opinion of this product.
I originally wanted the Big Muff to fuzz up my bass in the studio and play feaux rhythm guitar at shows. But i realized i needed more of a distortion than a fuzz. I almost settled on a Boss Metal Zone when the salesman brought over the EHX Metal Muff. It sounded amazing and if you dial back the distortion you can still get that fuzz. Top Boost is insane. You'll love it.
The knobs turn smoothly and feel of quality.
You can dial in a wide range of fuzz/distortion with this. This pedal sounds like it would be suited for any music where a thick wal of crunchy but still a little fuzzy distortion.
All black. Looks serious.

The Best, most versatile Distortion unit Ever !

Your general opinion of this product.
QUALITY:
Amazing ! the battery got loose during shipping and banged around really bad inside. The center detente for the Bass, mid and treble controls were thrown off to 1 Oclock (insead of 12 !) and the exposed capacitors(?) and were bent over to 45 degree angles and Still this beast wanted to work, just after awhile only with the Top Boost "On" ! If this was your Only source of distortion for a gig I'd have to say 100% Reliable, workable piece no matter what, I mean when are the insides of a distorion Ever going to get scrambled like that at a gig or practice!
FEATURES:
I'm going from an American Strat, single coils, right into a Cube 30(miked up for gigging) and thinking outta the box I found the Best,Fattest sound leaving the Top Boost "On" all the time, using the Clean channel for lead and the lead channel for rythym, By using the volume on the strat and pup switching I got every imaginable kind of distrtion I could want, from Tattered speaker to cr

Super Sweet Pedal! Sent to us from the Gods!!
By: AMS Customer from USA
Submitted: 2/5/2008
Your general opinion of this product.
QUALITY:
Great pedel from Electro-harmonix. Metal constructed box, the only kind I prefer. Solid switches no worries there.
FEATURES:
There is a three band equalizer, makes dialing in your sound easy. Top boost is definetly a plus all distortion pedals should have them.
EASE OF USE:
Five knobs are low key enough a preschooler could work. Nice led lights for you to know what is turned on.
VALUE:
I am thrifty so I wouldn't want to pay anymore for this pedal. If it was lost or stolen I would definetly buy another!
SOUND:
Awsome distorted sounds from this puppy! Don't let the Metal Muff name fool you, easy to get mellow distortions from this as well. As for the Top Boost feature, it is like you just hit the nitrous button. It just screams! And I mean in the most musical way!
