Product Rating Product Review Tama has produced a real winner with this one. Would give it 5 stars if I didn't have to deal with a ring needing to be muffled somewhat. Maybe a different head might help.

Product Review I use it in recording and live applications. Cut through like a knife during live performances and a fat enough sound for recording.

Product Review I’ve accumulated a small arsenal of snare drums over the years and wasn’t really looking for another until I saw a picture of this drum online. Just had to have it, so I bought it. The sheer beauty of this thing is captivating, not to mention the sound. The bubinga wood is a very unique and distinct sound. It didn’t take long before becoming my ‘go to’ snare. Compliments all around from my band mates, especially our sound man. Lovin’ this drum.

Product Review Been playing for close to 40 yrs and have had a collection of snares. Having 12 layer ply shell it is the thickest snare I’ve ever owned. Amazing tone, really deep when tuned low. I really like the smoked chrome, been waiting for that finish for decades. Not a chrome fan. Waiting for smoked chrome hardware to appear. Great sounding great looking highly recommend for rock. Just would like to see it made in USA

Product Review Sounds really good tuned down or up. I have this one and the S.L.P. Black Brass. For the money, you can't beat the sounds you can get out of the S.L.P. line.

Product Review This is my first Tama snare, and won't be the last. The sound, quality, construction & visual appeal of this snare are a great buy for the price point compared to other similar wood shell snares. Highly recommend this drum to all drummers regardless of the primary type(s) of music played, as it can be easily tuned from low to high to meet individual preferences.

Product Review I am collecting the Tama SLP snare drums and this is one that I have been lusting over for the past year and I finally purchased it and when I was unwrapping the drum I was amazed at how "BEAUTIFUL" the drum looked! It looked like a fine crafted piece of furniture. Very seldom do I play my new drums with the stock heads that come with them but I was preparing for a rehearsal so I could only tune the drum and play it immediately. I was thoroughly impressed with the sound qualities of this instrument. One word came to mind as I was tweaking and trying out the snare at different tensions and that is "BODY" As I tuned it medium to high I could feel my 2's and 4's in 4/4; my 4's in 6/8; and my 4's and 7's in 9/8. This drum has "CHARACTER" and I believe it could the primary snare in any genre of music. Also, I was impressed with the sensitivity of the snare at diverse volumes.I thoroughly glad that I added this drum to my compilation of snares!

Product Review this Tama SLP Bubinga sounds as Great has it looks. Love the double snare adjustments. Great snares wires. Love the Evans G1 head on the bater head and the Evans snare side head. The snare throw off control. Sound engineers will love this drum either recording or life. Nice fat snare sound for all music styles. Might go to snare.

Excellent quality Versatility in tuning range and the striking appearence. Wide tuning range with a few overtones that are easily controlled with one strip of Moon Gel. Plenty of high crack coupled with body. Any drummer's dream! Your general opinion of this product. I bought it to use as a backup snare. Within five minutes of using it I didn't have any desire to use my old maple drum. Its been four months and I still haven't switched back. Excellent value Gorgeous Bubinga finish against the black hardware.

Well the quality is amazing!! Not to mention this product is beautiful just to look at....I keep this bad boy in a case and keep finding myself gazing at it while Im playing it. The sound is amazing Tone is unmatched it has two different tension tuners to adjust the snare sound. Just one click can make a difference. Your general opinion of this product. Overall this product is just what I needed for my set. Im building my set from scratch and I couldnt find anything else that was beautiful and a had amazing sound and quality.. Its pricy but if your a picky drummer then the price shouldnt matter. It appearnce is flawless. Nickel make this drum look like a million bucks
