I love this guitar! Not only is it stunning to look at (I could look at the Koa backside all day), it plays easy and sounds amazing, too! There are certainly better guitars out there, but not at this price point. I highly recommend it for a first time, high-end guitar.

This guitar truly took my breath away when I first laid eyes on it. The craftsmanship is impeccable. The wood is stunning and the guitar feels pleasant in your hands. It's begging to be played! You can barely brush your fingertips along the strings and they'll sing the clearest notes. The back of the guitar body is slightly bulged, creating a louder and richer tone. This guitar will be an heirloom for generations to come.

Hands down, this is the best guitar you can get under $1,000.
To be honest, when you're shopping for a low-end guitar you know something's gotta give, either some of the sound quality gets lost, or you gotta pull hard on the strings or do some crazy gimmicks to make the guitar sound good. However, on this one, the sound quality does not get lost. Rather, this guitar has its own unique voicing, just like other Taylor guitars. The guita sounds "sweet, raspier, clear, and woody".
The first time I plugged it to an acoustic amp, the sound blew me away. I play mine with a Marshall AS50 amp, which elevates the guitar-sound far beyond its price-tag & capabilities (it comes to no surprise why some artists still play with 200-series Taylors on some of their gigs).
I was a bit hesitant between picking a Rosewood guitar over a Koa, but I'm glad I did. Rosewood has a more "mellower" sound, as opposed to Koa. Koa makes it sound crispier, with a bit more treble on the end. I was actually surprised it comes with Daddario strings, but the strings fit the guitar's voicing wich makes it sound "raspier" and "woody". So if you're into folk-acoustic music, you might want to check this one out.
I'm happy with my purchase. I've previously owned some of the high end 800 series Taylors, but this time I wanted to go with something cheaper without having to sacrifice the Taylor sound & crispiness. You would be surprised by the unique sounds you could pull out of this one.

This is the first high end guitar i have ever purchased. It is far and away the best guitar i have ever owned. I have an Ibanez and an Alvarez both good guitars, but my brother owns a taylor and i love his. Koa has a different sound, very bright and its own unique sound no other guitar brings. My first Taylor, will not be my last.

I was a bit weary ordering an acoustic online but the craftsmanship on this 214ce is outstanding. Having a solid spruce top and being made in North America makes a difference I think.
I play a lot of open tunings and fingerstyle and this model is very balanced with every note ringing clearly. The best part is the es2 pickup; it's really warm and natural sounding and sits in a full band mix really well. Great for recording DI as well as live.
The koa back and sides look great, expect a lighter shade of wood than shown in pictures.
Lastly, the case it comes with is rigid and I would feel comfortable throwing it around while traveling.

First off customer service at AMS is top notch, great packaging and super fast free shipping. The Taylor 214ce is absolutely fantastic, I have a small collection of acoustic guitars ranging from Yamaha's to Breedlove and Seagulls, just to name a few. Right out of the box I was blown away, most, if not all acoustics require some sort of professional setup, but the action and playability was spot on from the get go. I wasn't concerned about it being made in Mexico, in fact I knew for the price it wasn't going to be made in USA, they nailed this thing down there, I love Mexican Taylor's and Burritos. Lighter B&S color than I expected, I thought Koa was a little more brownish/reddish, and slightly darker, not complaining though, in fact its quite the surprise and very appealing. Played a ton of acoustics, I would have to say that there are some close seconds, but this is the best all around acoustic guitar in its price range. Nothing Martin has in the under $1500 price is even in the same ballpark as what Taylor has to offer, dont be totally sold on the all solid wood thing, But it, love it, play it for life.

I’ve been recording since 1978 and have had a few people come with there Taylors in hand . All recorded well , but I never thought I would own one .
So , AMS is here giving us the opportunity to make payments , a game changer for many artist . Before I bought this sweet GTR , I dove into research and suggestion you do also . Taylor guitars are precision craftsmanship and don’t cut corners. The KOA wood tone is sweet, crisp, and true unplug and plugged . The Hawaiian people called it warrior wood , I’m a cosmic warrior so we fit together well .
If your looking for a Acoustic to play for the next 100 years lol , snag a Taylor .

This is the most awesome acoustic electric I have owned. It projects very well and has character. The dynamics for lack of a better word where it articulates exactly what I'm playing with every note is so clean but also bright and bass hits you in the chest. I have yet to use the electronics but I know if it sounds half as good as it does now I won't have any complaints. The quality is there I felt it the minute I first took it out of the soft case. The only other electric acoustic I owned that came close was a Yamaha APX 700. I used to gig with that one for acoustic songs. Once again AMS and Taylor hooked me up. I couldn't be happier!

Needed a new 6 string acoustic electric for upcoming summer gigs at a good price, this one has all that. Great tone, beautiful Koa look, playable for hours and nice Taylor styling. Going to get a lot of use indoors and out in varying climate, but staying in tune well and sounding nice and thick just out of the box.

For a much lower level Taylor price wise it more than lives up to and beyond what would be expected. Very good tone, playability and build quality.
Exceptional fit and finish, quality tuners, fretwork and little to no setup needed.
Simple as this... I am very glad I took the chance unplayed first and bought it.

Great guitar!!!
I had Martin, Yamaha, Fender, Gibson and some other guitars since I start play guitar. And lots of people play Taylor so I was wondering about the guitar. I am leading gospel band at the church mainly play acoustic guitar currently, before the Taylor 214ce, use Crafter. Well, it is well made guitar but always feel something was missing. I wanted to get Taylor but the price was the problem, however, I found this American Musical site and they offer 18month installment payments without interest that I could get this guitar and I am very happy with this. Sounds clear, bass is good, tone is awesome.... was skeptical since it is made in Mexico. But if anyone wants this guitar, don't worry to getting this baby. I believe Taylor quality assurance is great. Thanks American Musical!!!!

I have bought many items from AMS and this is certainly the best yet. I knew Taylor had a great reputation, but was still amazed at the quality of sound for such an affordable guitar. I recommend AMS and their products to any musician I meet. Now I have a new item to show off.

It was packed very well , the gig bag kept the guitar safe while being delivered . Strings were heavier than I expected and it was tune to 434 . I Google it to see , why Taylor tuned it like that ,didn’t find anything .
There are some sharp edges on the nut and it needs some adjustments .
Sounds great and no string buzz .

I've played and owned multiple acoustics over the years, playing Taylor's at various shops but never breaking down and buying one because of the cost. With the 12-Pay option, I finally broke and bought this beauty, and I'm so glad I did. Bright, warm, vibrant and bold. A beautiful sound, great for any style and skill level.

Great sounding guitar. Taylor quality sound. Actions is good. Setup was a little off because the strings set so high off the frets. I adjust the tension on the neck but got string rattle on the frets. I’ll have to work with the setup more but know the guitar was a good choice for the money. Sounds great plugged into my amp.

I was worried sick about spending a thousand dollars on an acoustic and having it spend 10 days in transit from Reno Nevada, standard ground Fed-Ex. Why they didn't use their standard 2day shipping from NJ is beyond me?!? As for the guitar itself... phenomenal. Perfectly dressed frets, beautiful Koa grain pattern and most importantly, AMAZING tone! I've never heard a bad sounding Taylor so I was confident I would receive a great one. Perfect craftsmanship. I will own this one forever.
