Product Description

The SE Kingfisher takes a traditional singlecoil bass platform and adds PRS’s fit, finish, and attention to detail, delivering a new take on a classic instrument. No matter the style or decade, the Kingfisher can achieve every bass part you loved growing up.

PRS Paul Reed Smith SE Kingfisher Bass Features
  • Ash Body
  • Maple/Walnut 5-ply thru neck
  • 24 fret Rosewood fretboard with birds
  • 34 inch scale
  • PRS–designed, proprietary humbucking pickups (2)
  • Rear mounted controls
  • Hipshot bridge with thru-body stringing
  • Hipshot tuners
  • Includes SE gigbag
Kingfisher (4B ‘S’) pickups are extremely punchy and focused, giving player the ability to walk a low-mid focused blues line, articulate a high-mid focused fretless style part rich with harmonics, nail the scooped midrange and sweet top-end sound slappers favor, and wield a razor sharp blistering rock bassline. This bass has growl to burn!

Designed in PRS’s Maryland shop, the Kingfisher’s swamp ash body and modern neck through construction provide sustain and evenly balanced tone. The maple/walnut neck has been meticulously designed, and the 34 inch scale length makes this an instantly comfortable bass for players old and new. A modern bridge allows you the choice of strings through the bridge or the body to yield even more tonal possibilities.

Product Review

I usually play out of active pick ups, but the tones I get from the Kingfisher makes up the lacking power I am use too. I will keep this bass on stage with me I love the playability of the neck too, this is an excellent investment.

well worth the money, and then some.

Product Review

not only beautiful, but plays extremely easy, has everything you want for my music, contemporary Gospel, traditional gospel, blues, and light rock and country. It is fast, punchy, great mid,s. Most of all it is a "head turner". I never knew passive would be so ranged. I love it and would suggest anyone wanting to step up to the next level...get this bass.
