    Product Description

There is one overdrive circuit to this day has been the most talked about, the most sought after, and the most mythical of them all. It’s big, it’s expensive, and it has certainly earned its place at the table. Wampler has painstakingly and faithfully reproduced that magical tone in all its glory in an unbelievably small package, and its name is Tumnus.

Tumnus is a versatile addition to any setup, any style. Stack it with another pedal to help push or shape the total amount of gain, use it as a standalone overdrive, or use it as a slightly dirty boost to push the front end of your amp over the edge. You can even use it as a buffer, because just like the original this pedal is not true bypass. Instead, faithful to the original, this pedal contains a buffered bypass tone legendary in its own right.

    Wampler Tumnus Overdrive Pedal Features

    • Built in USA
    • Famous OD/Boost voicing
    • Level, Gain, Treble controls
    • Dimensions: 1.5 x 3.5 x 1.5 inches (38.1x88.9x38.1mm) – height excludes knobs and switches
    • Power draw: 20mA at 9v
    • 9v power jack – DC supply only, no battery connection within.
The Tumnus’ streamlined 3 control knobs (Volume, Gain, and Tone) allow you to quickly dial in your tones no matter what the gig calls for. We aren’t going to sit here and claim it has magical parts, or we sourced out 60 year old diodes that make it perfect, but we are going to say that during our research we looked at everything available and then only used the parts that Brian chose to replicate that amazing tone.

Let’s face it, not everyone has room for a four-legged beast on their board. This slender biped slips in and out of a myriad of tight situations. Now you can have the tone. Now you can have history. Now you can have it all without having to sell your prized gear possessions. The Wampler Tumnus, standing up for that amazing tone, but without the outrageous claims often associated with it.

What is your opinion of this product?
The search is over. I am not a pedal user. I don't have a pedal board. Heck...I had to buy a power adapter because I didn't even have one of those. Back to the pedal...what an inspiring array of tones one can get from the Tumnus. It's astonishing really. The gain on tap is huge. But usually, somewhere in the middle is where you want to be. You can also adjust in some treble or bass...along with a volume and gain control. Normally, pedals will work better with an LP or a strat. This pedal get's along well with all my guitars, but especially my Mark V Guitars T Style. I'll check back in after the honeymoon.

Everything they say is true. This makes my whole rig just sound better. I leave it on all the time, not just for leads.

    Wampler Tumnus Is No Joke
What is your opinion of this product?
What they say about this thing is true. It's absolutely killer. It took about 3.7 seconds to realize everything ever said about this pedal (and many others of this circuit type) is NO JOKE. Adds a layer of dimension like nothing else I've ever heard. If you are familiar with the amount of gain a regular Ibanez TS9 has, this has more... but not melting-Marshall-more. I have it in a chain that includes TC Polytune> Dunlop Hendrix Wah> MXR DynaComp> TS9> Tumnus> DOD FX40B EQ> ISP Decimator> TC Flashback Delay. The Tumnus is fuller in the bottom and more 3-dimensional than the TS9... and more quiet. Stacked together they are doubly killer. OD settings (1-10 scale) TS9: Drive-2, Tone-5.5, Level-4. Tumnus: Gain-3, Treble-4, Volume-4.5. Even my 80s era EQ pedal has never sounded better with the Tumnus in front of it. This thing is worth it. I don't want to turn it off. Good thing I don't need to. Rolling back the guitar volume preserves the layer of awesome, but cleans up nicely.
