The AKG D112 is a staple of studios and live music venues fo as long as they’ve been out. The MK2 takes the reliability and frequency range and packaged it into a semi new chassis. It still bears a similar resemblance to the original but, it now has the stand attachment and XLR jack incorporated into the mic. Pretty easy and you no longer have to worry about losing or breaking the mic clip. Definitely worth every penny.

I just received this microphone in the mail today, but it comes at great recommendation by my experience using it. A friend of mine who does some home recording used this microphone in every recording we did, and the bass drum would always stand out and be loud and full. I play rock music, and as a drummer myself who is getting into updating my own studio, this was the microphone that I knew to get.

Great beaterhead kick mic. Really clear attack and round low end. Works great pairing with a good woofer mic. Got it at the $150 but well worth current price.

The AKG D112 is a standard in bass drum Mics. I have owned Audix, Shure, and EV bass drum mics and none in my opinion have the quality of punch that the D112 has. Pair this with the AKG D40sand AKG P420s to make a killer drum mic set. Now to top it off use American Musical Supply’s easy payment plan to make an affordable budget for those times that money is tight. Great job to AKG and AMS on offering awesome products at reasonable prices and payment plans.
