This thing is clear and loud. I thought it would be harder to move around but with the handle and wheels it’s a lot like using a hand truck.

There is little to add to the story of the 8x10 ampeg cab. I used this one to replace a stack consisting of a ampeg 15 bottom and 4x10 with a classic tube head. Obviously it sounded great- but the 8x10 is just noticeably better-tighter, more responsive and better and rendering harmonics. The big difference is it cuts through the mix at a lower volume than the other speakers. Would buy again for sure-but not likely I will need to as well built as it is!

I love this cabinet, its my third, I run the awesome SVT Pro 4. This cabinet will handle anything you throw at it, and the sound is amazing. The SVT Pro 4 and this cabinet, is a monster, and it has never let me down. I swayed from Ampeg once (Huge Mistake) I have stayed with this set up for years, and continue to stay with Ampeg. Also you can't beat all the cool people who work at AMS, and their customer service is simply amazing. You can't go wrong with Ampeg and AMS.

Greatest cabinet I've ever owned! Doesn't weigh as mush as my previous 8×10 and sounds 10 times better! easier to load in my vehicle than a 410 cab because you don't have to lift it, just tilt and push.you could actually fit 2 of these in a Ford Escape! Thank you American musical!!

I couldn't be more happy with this cab. I upgraded from an Eden 410 and can honestly say nothing beats the Ampeg tone. This is a really well built sturdy cab and I can't wait to start giging with it!

While most players my age are downsizing, I choose to have the best sound possible. I should have done this years ago! I have several cabinets(Mesa, Hartke,Peavey) and this is the King of the cabinets. I used it last night with my Mesa Subway 800D head and it's the best sound I've had in 42 years!

It’s the fridge!!! There’s a reason why you see this bass cab on nearly every back line across the world. I haven’t had a single problem with it. I use a 500 watt orange head and drive these speakers very hard and never a problem. It’ll take a beating and never damage the wheels or Tolex. If you’re thinking about it just go ahead and do it. You won’t regret it.

very well made sturdy, its ampeg svt backing your sound very dependable
you can run as a 4x10 or 8x10...and run 2 seperate heads to it at diffrent settings..wish they would add a metal grill instead of cloth cover
very clear you can hear every note and i play in drop c tuning
plug in amp head and play
whatever you want your sound to be it reproduces very clear
good
bass cab great no set up required

1/3 Of the perfect bass rig
By: Trey Moore from Charlotte, NC

Again, this thing is sturdy. It's one of the few cabs you'll see still gigging in twenty years and still sounding amazing. The band I played in for a while had one of these that was about ten years old and sounded amazing. I had to buy one for myself. And mine has treated me just as well(although I've only had it for a few months)
I love that you can run the bottom four and top four speakers independantly. It has saved me so much trouble being able to go from small places running it as a 4x10(protip:use the top four to carry the sound a little farther) to the bigger badder places running it as it was meant to be.
This baby is loud and proud. I run an Ampeg SVT-4 Pro to it and it is simply perfect.
I play a little bit of everything. I'm mainly a metal head, but I also constantly play jazz, classical, blues, and classic rock and every tone I throw at it with my SVT-4 is mind blowing.
This cabinet looks amazing right out of the box. The tolex rips pretty easily when heavily gigged on, but you'll only damage the beauty, not the beast. This thing is sturdy.

this was the most serious rock club in the state. many B bands come through this was house equipment live bands 7 nights some 4-5 per night. this was as used as the girls walking the street outside and sang better than my dreams
eight tens----- thought it was soo country until----
my sound is some low smooth sliding to fast slapping punk and this did it all better than I could imagine
wanted Hartke 4x10 and1x15 until that epic night
Not muddy, Not lacking in spank, slap, bottom(!) ---did everything better than I guessed anything could and our style is very diverse
too many stage lights to see anything
had to use the club's cabs with our heads

WHY MY CABNET CAN BEAT UP YOUR CABNIT
By: Priest, Bass player for The Saints of Pain from NEW YORK CITY
Submitted: 10/6/2009
Quality control is really the only thing that any company has. After 135 shows and two tours, mine have never let me down. From the studio to the stage, I have recorded and toured with nothing but Ampeg for only two reasons, Tone and Dependability. In the end there really isn't anything else.
It is a strait forward cab with all the features you need to be able to rock out and knock dead the audience with the wall of sound low end that every bass players wants. All of this comes with a price. Its Heavy! 140 lbs, not the portable easy to move combo amp that you just throw in the back seat of your Honda Civic. I tour with two of these and it take time and a strong back to get them to stage.... But it is worth it. Plug one in and you will change your mind about the weight.
Pure ROCK. While I have known a ton of guys that use these for country, pop punk, and jazz, to me it seems a waste but to each his own. This is a cab meant for laying down the low end and competing with the largest stacks of guitars that can be thrown at you. From Mudvayne, Alice in Chains, Rage Against the Machine, to The Saints of Pain, and just about every other band that kicks xxxx in the bass department uses one of these. Turn on a record that you have loved the bass sound on in the last 30 years and you are really hearing one of these.
It is a set it and forget it item. I have my personal sound dialed in for this cab, and when I play clubs with aback line with it,,,, it is a personal sigh of relief. No worries about if it will be a good sound night or not. Everything will take care of it self with the might of AMPEG behind you.
Dark, and growly with more xxxx then any cab made. You can go from crushing lows to smooth highs with out one worry about " Will this cabinet handle the changes?" Two albums, Two tours, and 130 shows, can't be wrong, this cab has seen every stage condition imaginable, and it rocked them all!
It is a solum tower of black with a matte finish that has a take no prisoners look. Working on every stage setting imaginable, the look is burned into your brain as the look of your favorite guitar. With that being said, there is a complaint to be made about Ampeg it is that they are still using Tolex and acoustic sounding fabric. Both being equally easy to burn, and scratch. Your grandmother incased her beloved couch in plastic armor then you should be smart enough to buy a live in case.
Crack open the refrigerator size packing carton, plug in your head and favorite bass (thunderbirds my personal fave) turn down the light, strike a rock pose that makes you look like GOD because you are going to be THOR, GOD OF THUNDER. There will be very little dialing but you are going from silence to having to explain to the cops how every bobble on your neighbor curio cabinet got on the floor in one open E.

Your general opinion of this product.
QUALITY:
Incredible quality, your roadies will tk you for the wheels and the handle. It came in perfect shape, tks AMS!
FEATURES:
Cant go wrong with speak-on jacks, pretty self explanatory plug and play.
EASE OF USE:
Very easy, you do have to use both plugs even on bridge mode. Thats not so clear in the manual but it doesnt take rocket science to figure it out.
VALUE:
Its absolutely worth the price. In the area where I live no one has this tone.
SOUND:
I use it with a Tech 21 RBI rackmount and a Behringer 1500 and the whole house shakes not even half way thru. I can see why so many pros use it. The sound is just classic. Dont be fooled by the fact it doesnt have a horn.
