Before owning this device, I’ve owned the Apogee One for iOS. The HypeMic is basically the Apogee One on steroids made from the future.
Unlike its predecessor, it doesn’t require external power to work. Just plug it to your iphone or other device and get to work, which makes it even more convenient to use anywhere. it also includes its own pop filter (metal not soft mesh) which doesn’t catch as much as I’d like, but still gets the job done and then some. GarageBand and Logic Pro X work well with this. The only thing I haven’t done yet is connect it to my interface (UA Apollo Twin) and record via Pro Tools, but with the quality of how this mix works, I wonder if I even need to. I highly recommend this mic if you’re a vocalist or voice artist.

I bought this product 2 months back and have never been so satisfied with a product right out of the box than this
Hype Mic from Apogee. The compressor feature fits the bill and the combination of settings provided lets you get just the right sound every time. Please get a good set of headphones to go with this product.

Took awhile to get it due it being on back order. But it was definitely worth the wait. I'm a radio Dj so Ive been looking for a portable USB mic that is comparable to the mics we use in the radio station. Perfect for voice over mixes and podcasts. I'm very happy with it. Would recommend it to anyone whether your a professional like myself or if you just want something that's going to produce good vocals without spending a ton of money. Great product

I have a variety of apogee products, and love every one of them. I had the older mic with no headphone input and the latency was bad, this mic you can listen to playback or listen as you sing/record and it’s awesome. Built in compression, lots of settings, and one button control for changing settings, works great with garage band and Logic Pro, so far no issues with this mic I am very happy with it. They have great customer support as well if you need to reach out. Remember to register your warranty online with apogee too.

I have been an Apogee Mic owner since the original Apogee Mic which I loved. I also owned the Apogee Mic Plus and now the Hype Mic.
Thinks that I love- The ability to change the compression is brilliant and gives you pretty close to studio sound. I love the fact that Apgoee has always given you the cables you need to get started right away. The Apogee Mic works flawlessly with my iPad Pro, iPhone and iPad 6 and the apps I use, Back Pack Studio, Twisted Wave and Garage Band.
As a Radio Show segment host and a Voice Over Artist this Mic is a God send and will allow you to get the job done on the road.
What I don't like- I wish the buttons were placed differently, I have changed the compression accidentally with my Kaotica Eyeball on. While I think the accessories are a nice touch, I have had problems with my USB C cable as well as the tripod is now stripped and the legs flop like spaghetti. The good thing is Apogee does stand behind their product for 12 months so they will send you a replacement. Needs a better tripod stand.
Overall just get it if you need to record on the go, you will not be disappointed.
