Great pedal! It helps a lot to tighten up the pedal with an OD in the front of it. Great tone.

My amplifier has an upgraded sound and response when I use this Diezel Herbert Two Channel Overdrive and Preamp Pedal. I am wondering if it may become dependent of its usage. Because, it is like dope for your amplifier. That is how good it is.

The low end you’ve been looking for

As the title says, this guy has that low end you’ve been looking for. The VH4 is a good pedal, but this Herbert dials in the sound in a much tighter and smoother way. The overdrive is very clean and each note rings out just right. So go ahead and make the investment to improve your overall sound. The quality of the overall make of the pedal itself is nothing but perfect. I’m a die hard Diezel fan now and you will be too. And as always, thank you AMS for making this purchase possible.

Product Review
Maybe I got a factory dud, but this pedal didnt sound nearly as impressive as others describe. It may have been a return though as it also did not include a power supply. This felt boxy as far as headroom was concerned (compared to my modeling units)and had a mushy mid range, with a trail of fizz that couldn't be dialed out no matter how little gain you used. I've owned the Herbert head and this pedal is not a good representation of what the real thing delivers, in my opinion. Just sounded like a tweakable pedal. I sent mine back.

Product Review
I always wanted a Diezel amp, but just could never afford one, but when I got a chance to buy this and the VH4 I was blown out of the water on how awesome these pedals really sound. The Herbert pedal most assuredly captures channels 2 and 3 of the OG amp and does so in style. I use the Herbert for scooped nu metal and the VH4 for old school metal and with them both its like I have every metal tome I could dream up. Do not run in front of your distortion channel as it will sound like butt, but through the clean channel or in the effects look its simply awesome. One of my all time faves on the market, I love the Herbert and the VH4, its all the hard rock and metal tome a guy can ask for. Thanks AMS for the great deal!!!

Product Review
I purchased this pedal to use as a preamp, plugging into a "house" amp, or directly into a soundboard. I have used many other pedals with some success, but the Diezel Herbert pedal by far is the best that I have used in this role. This pedal definitely captures, the sounds of channel 2 & 3 of the Herbert amplifier, including the Mid-Cut function. It's much more "tube" sounding than many tube equipped preamps I have used. There is plenty of gain on tap, its very quiet, and the pedal cleans up well with the guitar volume knob, even at higher gain settings. There is a great mid-range to the pedal which allows it to be used in many different styles of music, echoing the fact that many non-metal players use the Herbert amplifier. Another pleasant surprise, was the very natural decay of notes, with none of the fizziness and odd sound artifacts associated with other pedal designs. No matter what style of music, I cannot recommend a better "amp in the box" pedal, than the Diezel Herbert.

Run it thru the fx loop return of a tube amp and it’s the closest you’ll get to the relay thing without having to spend 3k. The normal channel is the lower gain setting of the two and the mid cut channel is sheer brutality. I wish it had separate gain parameters, but that’s my only real “complaint”.killer pedal!
