Product Review One wouldn't typically consider that a chorus effect would have any place on the low end of things...with that in mind, the MXR M83 Bass Chorus Deluxe effect pedal has brought new dimensions of sound into play for me. The pedal is tailored to accentuate the lower frequencies of bass guitars versus that of their higher octave brethren. A 100Hz High-Pass Crossover is engageable to filter out the effect from the bottom shakers. Adjustable Bass and Treble controls allow one to tailor the tone of the chorus effect to taste. The Width, Rate and Intensity controls all act accordingly to shape the voice of the chorus. I haven't used the Flanger mode much, however its' sound quality is definite. I find myself favoring the M83 for bass solo work versus using it for an entire song's bassline. As always, MXR has not failed to impress with their impeccable build quality and studio/stage ready sound quality! The M83 has a permanent home in my repertoire!

Product Review I ended up returning it as I refuse to use pedals that use a 'click' switch.

Product Review Jaco Pastorius used MXR for his signature sound. I try to get good tone with my Warwick Fretless bass and Epiphone Thunderbird Bass Guitars. With flat wound and Round wound strings. This MXR and a Wampler Ego Compressor is all we need with the Ampeg SVT 4 Pro amp with Eden, and Phil Jones Bass Cabinets to get our sound. I saw Jaco Pastorius with Weather Report in Philadelphia and at Rowan University, Glassboro, New Jersey. We are impressed how authentic our bass sound compares to the legend.

Product Review Has a nice tone to it, and I love the fact that I can cross it over so I'm not modulating the entire frequency range, just the mids and highs. This keeps the mix with the band cleaner over all but still allows that little gloss on the bass at times.
